That is a really old network adapter (20 year old) . There may not be a driver for in BionicPup32. Fortunately you can load the WinXP drivers for it with the NDISWrapper in Dougals Network Wizard, if necessary.

bionic puppy x32 latest on a athlon amd
3com 3c905 tornado ethernet pci adapter
issue:
ran the 3 puppy internet wizard options, frisbee, etc
with dhcp, gets ip, does not configure
gateway nor dns servers, therefore no access
goes without saying, other pcs/os configure fine

Puppy32 19.03 ext4 install won"t boot from grub, boots from CD
hanging from a sata pci port card ....
gparted to 2+2TB to sda1 ext4 boot & sda2 ntfs
installed puppy 32x using all defaults ...
grub starts, says it can't boot the kernel upupbb19.03frugal from (hd0,0), why ?

Whew, a P III??? Ok, that old CPU is going to be a challenge, but you might find one of the older Slacko Puppies
satisfactory, in regards to most things...web browsing will be a challenge due to limited RAM and lack of SSE.

@solarpuppy - Could be a modesetting issue with bionicpup32-19.03.
Try appending the following to your grub.cfg/syslinux.cfg kernel/linux line:
i915.modeset=0
Save updated .cfg file then reboot.

including #, the only option that ...

he problem seems to be xwin/xorg being able to find the Intel
display correctly
How do you know for sure it is using some type of Intel graphics hardware?
Can you tell us for sure what the graphics hardware is?

console comes up ok, console commands ok
used xorgwizard to configure xorg.conf to vesa, 800x600, 16 bit
lowest rez, tried other resolutions, no go, screen goes black,
next is reset button
motherboard is Intel PIII, 512 MB Ram, Intel 82801 bridge
works ok with ...

no go, xwin starts, screen goes blank ...
is there a kb shortcut to exit xwin ?

As above, an older pup is possibly better suited, Wary comes to mind....
But, if you boot to a prompt, you could run xorgwizard to choose your video settings

Some more background:
Running 32bit versions of Tahrpup, Xenialpup and Bionicpup on a Dell Lattitude D810 (Pentium M single core 32bit 2.0GHz) with 2GRam built in 2004.
Browser is Palemoon 28.16.0.
Starting about 4 weeks ago started noticing Youtube video preview pages were loading very slowly ...

If you can get to running xorgwizard.
Select vesa for the driver to use.

xwin/Xorg seems to start, screen turns black, no ctrl-c,
no way to stop it, hard reset next ...
is Xorg the only gi on this version ?

tried bionic puppy 32bit on an Intel Pentium III from Gateway model D810 desktop,
512MB ram, VGA ... installation seemed like it was going to work ok,
all daemons started ok,
... then it switched to a dark screen, and zap ... nothing
sounds like it was searching for a video card ?
