Re: Please do not use very dark text colors in posts

Good Afternoon: Consider this as my personal oppinion about the internet and posts (never consider it as an "attack" because it's NOT, :) I don't mind the way each one decides to write or configure his/her posts, because I addapt them to my needs, that is, write the way u want ;) I use FF...

Re: Please do not use very dark text colors in posts

@hundido How does this relate to the topic "very dark text colors in posts"? Changing the color temperature doesn't make this text more readable This is how blue text is presented to users of dark themes. Well, the topic is, "Please do not use very dark text colors in posts." Yo...

Re: Please do not use very dark text colors in posts

mikewalsh i think the problem was all the versions of puppy linux older than slacko 8.2.1, at the time, had an old enough kernal that it didn't include the firmware for my monitor or something. With Bookworm and F96, I use the build in Display Control. There's an unlabeled toggle button that looks ...

How do I turn off the screen saver? My screen turns this blinding blue color when the screen blanks out, so I want to have it always on.

@rockedge earlier today I saw your post about testing for, well now I can't find it, so QEMU (sp?)? That's a pet to try other distros in your distro? Would you help me with the link to that? I'd like to try it.

wiak It's opensource: https://man.sr.ht/installation.md I think if you want to have hosting and support, you can pay, but if you want, you can run sourcehut on your own server, and then costs are the physical server machine, and possibly electricity (depending if electricity is included in rent, or...

Low vision customizations: Learning that 150 is the biggest font supported, and 1024x768 is the loweest resolution supported, I decided to try both at once. This is really nice. The font is increased more uniformly, more everywhere, than probably any other distro I've tried so far. JWM Display lets ...

Re: F96-CE_4 Latest Stable Release

I've been meditating on what would make me like F96 even more than I already do. What if, on the website, added to the features area, or linked to the features area, was a page of all the .pet, .sfs, appimages, etc, that have been tested to work wtih F96? When I search for .pet packages on the forum...

Re: Which Puppy for Session, Signal/Molly, Telegram, Element/Matrix and Daily Driver Plus Required Programs?

mikewalsh I don't know that most of them require a smart phone. If someone wants to use the desktop app to verify an installation that syncs with a smartphone, or wants to install the desktop app on a newly installed system, the qr code can save some typing. Most of them have recovery phrases, or i...

Re: DeltaChat - a standalone messenger app.....email-based; no need for a smartphone; in 'portable' format...!

like so many other apps now, it's Electron-based. Which means a stripped-back Chromium browser underneath; well over 100 MB for that bit, with the actual client a relatively small chunk built on top of that.

@mikewalsh I've been wondering what, exactly, Electron is. Thanks

Default Theme It's fine like it is for now, but just from experience using e-ink Hisense phone A5, then A7cc as my daily-driver phone for the last few years, I know that when I replace my monitor with an e-ink monitor, it's going to turn into a challenge. File The settings on the file program are really nice in Bookworm. I like how the whole file name is displayed even if it takes up many lines. Element made menu listings in both Internet and Network. It works from both listings, and people say it's nice to have options, so it's not really a problem, but it's the first time I've seen a program do that, so maybe worth a mention.
