Yes, I got it through the PPM. It came with an update of the repositories, so probably Slackware. I'll explore your .pets and hope for something that's simple to install. BTW, I found a post with a link to an updater in .pet form:

Re: Firefox ESR 32bit updater v5
My 60.4.0 esr 32bit FF doesn't update for me, running slacko 6.0. Is this .pet just an updater that is installed leaving my current FF in place, or do I need to remove the current 60.4.0 esr browser and reinstall it after installing the updater .pet?

Re: Updating Firefox in Slacko
Before doing anything to change the browser, I just now checked my settings for the current browser and found that it is set for "never check for updates. I have no option of changing those settings and there is a line which reads "Udates disabled by your system administrator". That msu be why my FF ...

Re: Updating Firefox in Slacko
Thank you, Mike. That is more in tune with my abilities. My slacko machine is 64 bit, but I have been using a 32 bit version of slacko for some reason that I've forgotten by now. I have burned the 64 bit version to disc and can install it instead if necessary to try out the 64 bit packages. I really ...

Re: Updating Firefox in Slacko
Thanks, Mike. I have some learning to do before I try anything like the portables. I was once able to do some simple things with my puppy distros, but I had a bad car accident in 2015 with a head injury that set me back quite a bit. I'm still running the slacko version that I had at the time of the ...

Re: Updating Firefox in Slacko
Thanks. I see, after following the procedure linked from updatemybrowser.org . It recommends using the package manager which, in the case of my slacko distro doesn't have a pet on anything later than the FF60 esr. I've searched the forum for reference to a repository that has a pet for FF100+ with ...

Updating Firefox in Slacko
I'm still running FF 60.4 Oesr 32 bit and wanted to update to the current FF 102 or whatever the current version is. Since my version is a Oesr, shouldn't I be able to simply update from Mozilla just like I do with my Windows machines? I thought I should ask before proceeding since I haven't done an ...

Re: How to remove xine from slacko 6.0?
The PPM says v2. I have 6.0 frugalled on several machines, mainly my Dell 780s. On the Dell Optiplex 780's mainboard it's Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E7500 @ 2.93GHz, with 4gig memory. I've been reading the threads on the slacko 7.0, which is what I thought was the final edition. I'll also look at 6.3.2 ...

"Posted this to answer your original question since it was never answered."
Thank you. That seems to get to the bottom of the removal process. I'll look into that and if the library files (which should be the most extensive) are simple to delete, I could do that, or I might just do a clean ...

Re: How to remove xine from slacko 6.0?
Slacko 6.0 is the most stable on the old machines I run. I'm intending to download 7.0 and give it a try, but I like slacko better than the other puppy versions I tried before settling on slacko. Anyway, I read up on xine settings and have gotten the fullscreen issue settled. I'm going to call this ...

Re: How to remove xine from slacko 6.0?
"Since xine-ui depends on xine-lib, if you try to uninstall xine-lib first, the package manager may alert you that it is needed by xine-ui. Otherwise, if you uninstall in the correct order, the Package manager should not prevent you from uninstalling."

How to remove xine from slacko 6.0?
Lately xine has become kind of buggy. It was installed about 5 years ago on this machine and is probably an older version, but I need to remove it and replace it with what the PPM update shows as current. How do I remove it if the PPM's uninstall doesn't let me? I get the message that it can't be ...
