I commend for you use Mike Walsh's portable version of Anydesk.
It works will in my system and you can setup a remote password for unattended access as well.

good idea, but how to implement is purposefully. Puppy needs a separate thing like Slack.

I use Bionicpup64 and it has this :
Menu --> Setup --> Stickpup USB stick installer. I have used it many times. effortless and it works.
That has been my experience also, it has to update of course, takes time and then proceeds to the screen. Puppylinux is less stressful, less time consuming, more stable.
My guess is that the new machine will work once Barry has updated the kernel version.
