Re: Connect to internet using tethered android through usb

When tethered, " ip link " shows an interface, correct? Btw, i did try the link you posted, but this would *only* work if i was using "normal" tethering on android (which i can't, as i mentioned in my post, because of the rom I'm stuck with) where you usually just go into settin...

Re: Connect to internet using tethered android through usb

When tethered, " ip link " shows an interface, correct? Sadly it doesn't :/ Only the usual ones: lo (which is what my previously mentioned setup is actually using), wlan0 and eth0. I'm guessing trying to route/bridge the traffic between an unused network device (maybe like eth0?) with lo ...

Connect to internet using tethered android through usb

So, i recently started to use my android device's (tablet) internet connection by using a special tethered setup (which I'll detail below), given my built-in antenna (in this computer) isn't the best, and i didn't want to: - widen range on my modem (doesn't support that) - buy an external one - chan...

Where is the DB used by Puppy Package Manager located?

So i was kind of curious, and when thinking about it, i noticed that i didn't know where the DB (which most package manager have) actually was... Looked at the default location used by dpkg (which is usually at /var/lib/dpkg on ubuntu based system), but there wasn't anything there beside empty folde...

How to repack one of the main SFS without reflashing it?

So i was wondering, since i already know how to repack/remaster certain distros (namely puppy, and some ubuntu flavored ones), how could i repack one of the main SFSs (found on one of the partition after flashing/while puppy is running) and replace it with an updated version (say if i add a startup ...

Re: Is the swap on puppy (fossapup 9.5) encrypted or how to check if it is?

@wanthinker :- You want an honest opinion..? In the case of mainstream distros, running on powerful modern machines with buckets of RAM, encryption is fine.....if ya really WANT all that extra complication. In the case of Puppy, it's honestly more trouble than it's worth.....and on elderly, resourc...

Is the swap on puppy (fossapup 9.5) encrypted or how to check if it is?

I'm curious to know if the swap is encrypted or not, given i use it a lot on low ram machine...

Tried different commands on this post, seems they don't show any sign of the swap being encrypted...(on my end)

Essentially, i just want to make sure :)

Any thoughts or suggestion is appreciated.

Internet connection still working even if dhcpcd and wpa_supplicant is terminated (fossapup 9.5)

This is the weirdest thing i seen. As well as marking first post as Solved, it is also helpful f the OP includes how the issue was solved for others who may experience the same issue. Please, if your question was answered or your problem solved, do put (Solved) (at the end of the subject line; putting it at the beginning makes it a bit harder for others to scan through the forum for a problem that might be similar to theirs.) When I run across a thread that seems to have been an...

Just to be clear, is it the login password on the remote host that you are being asked for or the password to the private key store on your local machine? I'm guessing in the former case then it likely has to do with the configuration settings of the remote host (ssh server) and in the latter case ...
