@JusGellin
I'm not sure if calibre can help...
Download (and update) from terminal:
Code: Select all
sudo -v && wget -nv -O- https://download.calibre-ebook.com/linux-installer.sh | sudo sh /dev/stdin

Re: YouTube and adblockers
Personally, I never believe in 'never'.
What we don't know is far more than we know.
So when I see a good ad/info, I always respond, "Good to know."
And it's always better to help the economy than never, ain't it?

Re: YouTube and adblockers
As an audience, I see ads as info.
Information has three flavors:
- good (useful)
- bad (useless)
- none of the above
I don't want to block the info.
I prefer to be selective.
Note: Last time I found a good deal from a YT ad

Re: Vanilla Tasting
@dimkr, tasting your retro flavor feels like wine tasting.
Adding "Libfuse2" proves to make my system intoxicated.
I think I should take the vanilla one (non-WL). I feel like
sipping wine with a hot girl who goes by the name of
Miss 'Moderation'

Vanilla Tasting
Dim, I've been tasting your vanillas over the last three days for the first time.
Quick questions:
1. Retro vs. others: what's in the 577MB (891-314)?
2. Retro does not run ".AppImage"? (at least for LibreWolf here)
Cheers

Surfshark works with MX Linux
"MX Linux ships with systemd present
but sysVinit is the default init system."

Surfshark VPN Won't Run
I tried installing Surfshark VPN:
Code: Select all
curl -f https://downloads.surfshark.com/linux/debian-install.sh --output surfshark-install.sh
cat surfshark-install.sh
sh surfshark-install.sh
but it failed to run.
Any enlightenment?

Re: DistroWatch needs a newer Puppy version listed for Puppy Linux!!!!!
I don't use most apps preinstalled with FossaPup64-9.5 but ROX, Terminal,
Palemoon, mpv, mtPaint, Geany, and PPM. I only install what and when I need.
I just want an 'everyday' car, not 'James Bond's' car.

Re: DistroWatch needs a newer Puppy version listed for Puppy Linux!!!!!
i.e.
BookwormPup32 + full list of pets (and dependencies) to download separately.
BookwormPup64 + full list of pets (and dependencies) to download separately.
No unused or useless apps (minimum bloat)
There is no one-size-fits-all.

Refocusing the presentation of Puppy Linux
Moving forward, can we design a modular BookwormPup that
is barebones, OS-only, but has a large number of drivers?
Just like this modular PSU, just 'plug in' or install the apps
we NEED.
Dogs and Puppies love bare'bones', don't they?

Re: Should I get a new Monitor ?
If you are planning to buy a new monitor, get at least:
- IPS
- 75Hz (60Hz is SO outdated these days)
*As you age, you may prefer a higher-quality monitor
over a faster CPU or bigger storage
