Re: tp-link UB4A driver for Bionicpup32 8.0 ?

You probably have to get a newer kernel. Also maybe buy another adapter, apparently this one is problematic.

Re: Problem with screen resolution

Okay, so you can try defining a new resolution. First, get a terminal open! Next, type in cvt width height hz (You should know the monitor specifications so you can fill in these blanks) Read the output, and copy everything after Modeline. Example: "1024x768_144.00" <insert some random numbers> You ...

You can post terminal output via selecting and using ALT+Insert key. (If you don't have those keys use xvkbd in the terminal or find it under Utility)

More likely the kernel doesn't even have Ipv6 seeing it was supported since 1996.
Maybe try bridging?

Re: console [urxvt] puzzle

/usr/bin/syslinux is a symlink to /usr/bin/syslinux-nomtools which looks a bit strange In BionicPup64, syslinux and syslinux-nomtools are 2 files which are byte for byte identical (identical md5sums). Puppy often has duplicate files, one of which should be a symlink, otherwise it is a waste of ...

Re: USB Device Remap from Nowhere

Thanks all. I am leaning towards Phoenix's explanation. It happened again (I power off daily, so a refreshed system) and this time Firefox was not involved. I had been copying files between drives. This would take about 20 minutes. I left the computer for about 2 hours. Came back. Files copied fine ...

Not sure if this belongs in beginners, but good as place as any to start :) I am running fossa64 from ISO. No save file or folder. The ISO boots from an external USB - using Ventoy. That USB gets setup as device sda. I installed bspwm (and associated sxhkd and tint2) as my window manager (as I do ...

You can upgrade libssl but you need to install its other dependencies in one go, otherwise you'll quickly break any attempts to access the internet.

By the way, what puppy are you using and what version?

I made the switch from Tahrpup32 everyday and occasional Bionic64, to Bionic every day a few months back. Unfortunately I seem to be getting occasional X system crashes where BP64 drops to console. I can resume via typing in "xwin", though with all current work lost. This is the same computer I've ...

Re: How does BionicPup32 delete a file?

As a side note to deletion, seeing that deletion on a layered filesystem was already explained: That it either is whited out, or deleted off the read/write layer. Delete (might) not actually be delete. You see, most Linux systems now use a journaling filesystem (ext3/4 or others) and key point here ...

The boot flag is definitely set. If I look at the drive in Gparted now it shows EXT3 under file system and on the right hand side under Flags it shows boot. Gparted is one aspect of all this that I am already well familiar with, having used it countless times previously. Yes the computer is set up ...

The network manager (Frisbee in this case) will normally have the facility to manage DNS and if this is set it will persist when rebooting or re-connecting. If using SNS, the manual DNS option may not be available. (Not sure if it has been added to more recent versions of SNS?) Here is Frisbee in ...

The launcher itself should be fine. Do you mean that the game itself won't connect? As well, Xbox servers recently went down so that might be the problem.

bioinicpup does has an on screen keyboard! It's under the utility section in the menu and is called xvkbd,

That's odd though, seems like there would be a module not being loaded or automatically done.
Also what is this write protection screw you're talking about?

As far as I'm aware, there is no puppy with support for ARM architectures beside Raspup. Otherwise the factory bootloader will notice and overwrite, nor will it permit modifications. As ...

Possibly that is whited out too, meaning you navigate to the relevant path and delete the whiteout file.
