Has anyone happened to try swapping kernels with a known kernel that works? Don't forget your modules too otherwise a bunch of problems may arise.

Re: How to push only a single file of a commit to different repository using git?
You can cherry-pick commits and push those. Via git cherry-pick <hash>
.
But this means that the said commit must only contain said file and nothing else, otherwise you'll need to make a commit to remove extraneous files and push that.

Re: MakeMKV No Disc to Open - [Solved]
Well, now that you know which module is needed, you can go to the Boot Manager and select the Modules tab, then select 'sg' as one of the modules to be loaded.

You can place this script into /etc/init.d and then enable it through Boot Manager, or make it executable via chmod +x

Re: Google Chrome - Reduce disk access to increase speed in USB drive
For that you'd need a wrapper script to do that. Or another utility. There's stuff on how to do this over at the Arch Linux wiki.

Re: Swap file causing very slow performance?
First, unmount your ext3 partition. Then fsck/e2fsck, your choice. Then you resize via GParted. If you still can't resize it, just create the swapfile on the partition instead and use that.

bioincpup64 may not have the support built in, or if it does it is missing the firmware. There is an fdrv avaliable for it.

Re: acpi-cpufreq vs amd-pstate
You do have AMD CPU right? As well it looks for this _CPC entry, so if it doesn't exist it will fallback to the one you did not want. It may also be that acpi-cpufreq starts up faster than amd-pstate meaning you need to add this:
Code: Select all
initcall_blacklist=acpi_cpufreq_init

Re: Testing the Prosilver-new Style
I'm not certain whether the favicon changed because of this, BUT its very very hard to see in firefox dark theme. (What is a favicon? It's that little icon beside the tab that you have open, such as Google's page being that of a 'G')

Using pmap
may help identify it. Just simply provide the PID, which you can easily obtain through htop
.

Could be worth setting a cron job to remove the file, but that sounds like taping it over.

I would very much suggest not dropping in stuff from other puppies. This is an even worse idea because precise is from Ubuntu and not Arch.
Try installing the package mentioned.

May be worth trying gtk3 from the Arch repositories instead?
