Fossapup64 9.5 would be much better version of Puppy to use.

Firefox is a constant piece of constantly changing software. It steps forward one step and goes back two steps with issues. Puppy has no control over Firefox working correctly. Many thanks for the replies! Excuses for not giving enough information. I have tried several file systems ext2-3-4, with the same outcome. I am familiar with pupsave and updating ppm and quickpet, I have used Puppy's before. The same usb stick worked very fine on my older HP 6730b laptop ...
