Re: Show Us Your Desktop..!!

Here's my current desktop. It's Grey's JammyPup64 that I've slowly been tailoring it to my tastes.

Frankensteinpup5

I was on archive.org looking for the devx for easypup when I saw that there has been an addition of Frankensteinpup5 in English, French and German. Wondering if anyone knows about this pup?

Re: Bullseye build script

Thought I'd add that there is a deb file for Ungoogled Chromium for Bullseye. It's not as new as Mike's portable builds:

https://software.opensuse.org/download/package?package=ungoogled-chromium&project=home:ungoogled_chromium

And to add a puppy like adblocker that modifies the /etc/host file ...

Re: Bullseye build script

Hi Fred!,

I used mklive-bullseye64 with gui to go thru the steps to create the iso. I did a default Tint2 iso as I wanted to have a similar iso as the sid version of debiandog bullseye from 11/20.

The settings I used were UEFI support along with generating initrd.img and leeping local files, and ...

Re: Bullseye build script

Really Great work! I never thought I'd enjoy rolling my own iso, but the build script really does take the guess work out of creating an iso!

Re: Show Us Your Desktop

I saw that people were using some earlier puppy wallpaper, and also faces so I thought I'd make an attempt with the new Dpup Beta.

Re: DpupBuster CE 64 and 32 bit

@art
I'm in total agreement with some improvements and also some regressions with this build.
Anytime I have a new distro, I know I'm going to spend a bit of time setting it up so that it's usable for me.

Just a quick note that DpupBullseye-9.7.0 beta was released a couple days ago. I've been using it the past couple days and it's quite nice.

Re: HirsutePup32 HirsuteHippo+Debian Woof-CE build 23-Apr-2021

The author of the Hungarian version seems to build and release many different builds. I've been trying various builds of his, and some of them are very good and others not so much. I don't speak or read Hungarian, so if I have an issue I've had to research it.

Re: Icons changed in Palemoon after installing Netsurf

Here's a bit more info. I'm currently running BullseyePup64 10.2.1-6. It is BarrK's Netsurf package and it effects the default icons (back, forward, reload, home and download).

The issue does not always reproduce, as I've done it three times now on fresh installs, other times you'll have no icons ...

Icons changed in Palemoon after installing Netsurf

Wondering if anyone has experienced an issue where the Icons changed to same icons as Netsurf after installing Netsurf. The version of Netsurf that I'm using is 3.10-buster64 that was built for EasyPup. Forgot to mention the build of Palemoon is 29.1.1 but it has occurred in the earlier 29 series of ...

Re: How to set default Conky color?

I took a look at the difference in the conky_start file between Fossapup64 and another puppy derivative (BeowulfPup64), as I read that there were issues with the wallpaper changer creating issues with transparency in various versions of linux. Sure enough there was a a difference in the conky_start ...

Re: More Hungarian Pups for those insterested a list.......

I was looking at another post when I discovered a link that has listed another version of Bullseyepup64 (9.3.0-lite) date 8/8/20. I'm a bit confused because the 9.0.0 version had a newer kernel 4.19 series vs 4.18.8 along with Palemoon 28.12.0 in this 9.3 version. the two versions also look totally ...

Re: How to set default Conky color?

Sorry it took a while to get back, but I've been busy working. I had no luck playing with the various settings to get transparency on startup, so I decided to install Fossapup64. Conky worked fine right from the start. I changed the settings to use part of the conkyrc from the pupplet Bullseye pup ...

Re: How to set default Conky color?

I wanted to confirm that there wasn't an issue with the ~.conkyrc file, so I installed a known good default ~.conkyrc file that displays transparency correctly (taken from AntiX Linux). Sure enough, the same issues are exhibited.

Re: How to set default Conky color?

This will still be a work in progress, as I just noticed that my icons ( I have 4 icons) on the desktop will hide once Conky starts up. If I hover over where the icon is located, it will display. they will open when clicked on. Playing with desktop settings, if I add an icon, it too will hide.

Re: How to set default Conky color?

I finally got the setting so that it would display transparent on boot. I had to do things a little different with setting the window than examples that I saw on the web. In my ~.conkyrc, I added the following:

# Create own window instead of using desktop (required in nautilus)
own_window = yes
own ...

How to set default Conky color?

Hello everyone,

I'm currently running a Hungerian puplet (BullseyePup64-9.0) and I'm having an issue where when I start my machine Conky comes up black (background color). If I go in my startup folder and open conky_start with a text editor, Conky will then turn transparent. I would like to have ...

Re: More Hungarian Pups for those insterested a list.......

Thank you for posting this list of Pups as I found a pup (Bullseyepup64) that I'm having a blast learning on (linux user since 1997, Puppy user for 4 days).
