Blast from the past - my old website

Hey all. Just wanted to share this screenshot of my website back in my early "Puppy" days. 1994-screenshot-puppy.jpg

It is a shame the old links are gone for the most part. This link was from a site called http://theoldnet.com/. I used the Netscape Navigator emulator to see it. Notice my mentions ...

Re: What is this odd folder that has weird stuff doing on sda3?

Ok, I am getting old. Sorry for any misinformation. I think it is sorted out. ;)
I still refuse to use another OS other than Puppy. Just not as sharp as I used to be.
It has always been a learning curve, but since the Social Security Kicked in, TG, I am a bit behind the times.

Re: What is this odd folder that has weird stuff doing on sda3?

I think you may be right. See screenshot of the "Pets" folder on that drive. There is a space in "My Applications". Perhaps I should have named it with a dash or underscore in between? Then It probably would have been in that folder?
Thanks :)

Re: What is this odd folder that has weird stuff doing on sda3?

mikewalsh Thanks. I was using a portable version of freetube I found in the forum and saw the file after that. I will have to take a look and see where I found it. I tend to keep all my portable apps on that drive. I usually just create a desktop icon and link it to the drive. I will look and see ...

What is this odd folder that has weird stuff doing on sda3? (solved)

Hey again all. Just happened on this folder today when I was looking for something else. Any idea why and what created it? Odd folder(1).jpg
It has a lot of stuff in it that I can't open, other than the "logs". My best guess at the moment is that it has something to do with Firefox? Did a bunch of ...

Thanks for the info. No matter what I tried, it was booting to the highest resolution once the driver loaded, 2560 x 1440 (2k). Setting the resolution in xrander appears to have solved the issue on reboot.

I am able to change the resolution temporarily with the NV control panel however ...

Re: How to upgrade fossa64 to use GeForce GTX1060 Gaming video card?

@mikewalsh Another update.
It appears that the card did (sort of) work with the built-in driver, however it didn't hold the resolutions correctly. I have an issue when saving to xorg config with the 450 driver, but it appears to work okay.

I have noticed that after the driver is installed, the ...

mikewalsh I finally have a screen!
OOTB, the AMD card will default to the in-kernel "radeon" driver. The GTX 1060 will default to the in-kernel "nouveau" driver. By rights, you should get a picture on the monitor straight away. I'm assuming here that you'll be going with HDMI?

Update! Waiting to find out if the 450 works or not. Tried the cards a couple times and my mother board had a VGA led lit up. I think it is because my monitor does not support the minimum resolution. The card lit up in all it's glory, logos etc. so I bought a monitor that should support it. Should ...

Now on to adapters, or another monitor that can use DVI D2, hdmi or display port. Probably should just go for the adapter first.
I'll let you all know how it works out.
