I think it's a design flaw in bionicpup64.
Calling nmcli, I noticed that my ethernet device isn't classified as one of the types (wifi, wwan) that are excluded from the unmanaged-devices clause, in contrast to the WiFi device, but as ethernet:
Did dmesg|grep firmware and the terminal does not show anything.
Am really confused now, about this lack of internet.
Use AIO to run thumbnail drive using Lubuntu-18.04.5-desktop-amd64 iso.
And guess what?
Lubuntu ran without problems, including the internet.
Used my lick installed bionicpup64, and replaced the files with
the files with the files you said needed replacing.
Still no internet.
I am thinking, might need grub4dos to fully boot a cd, then see what happens, with
the internet.
Will grub4dos still work on modern computers?
Grub4dos Is a 16 bit program, is it not?
If I am right, then modern bios don't support 16 bit programs.
Unless you can use QEMU emulator to use grub4dos.
Ethernet controller [0200]: Intel Corporation Device [8086:0d4c]
Am using the latest version of bionicpup64.
It's wired ethernet.
Been doing some research, and found out that grub4dos will
boot a cdrom/dvr.
So how does one chainload the grub4dos from grub2?
Would you give me an example that shows how to
do boot a cdrom/dvr indirectly from grub2.
Just used Ubuntu 21.10 and after using the terminal found it used Intel
Corp (11) I219-LM.
Maybe it's referred to as e1000e.
So how do I get hold of the linux driver for Bionicpup64?
I know the impishpup64 does not like this pc, but
could I used impishpup64 e1000e driver in bionicpup64?
Tried "dmesg | grep firmware"
Is dmseg spelled right?
At the terminal get dmseg not found.
Got this error.
"cannot stat 'kodi-ver-18-bionicpup64/vmlinux
Where can I find the latest change_kernels?
Looked in the woofce and cannot find it.
Bonicpup64 does not have a fdrv.sfs file.
So how would I go about fixing bonicpup64, so it can get the internet.
Versions of Grub below 2.06 have vulnerability dubbed "BootHole" allows for malicious code to be inserted into the system at early boot time via GRUB and can even be exploited on UEFI SecureBoot enabled systems.
Lick definitely needs a security update to prevent this vulnerability.
Grub2 thinks I have a cirrus CLGD 544 PCI graphics card.
My graphics card is a Quadro P620 graphics card.
Fossalpup64 runs, but no display.
When I press the power button, I hear Fossalpup64 barking.
Don't see any way to get internet on bionicpup64 under grub.
Also thought the hardware summary would help, no luck at all.
So, thought I needed a later version like fossalpup64.
But when fossalpup64 comes up, no display.
Use bionicpup64 to use grub config.
You can't win for losing.
Any ideas?
There is Grub2config.
From what I read, it is confusing to use Grub2config, and it frequently gives errors.
Considering, how confusing Grub2config, and the errors it causes, grub4dos looks like
the better choice.
Have a levono thinkstation p340.
Grub2 seems to be interfering with Bionicpup64 booting properly.
So how do I remove grub2 and install grub4dos instead?
Where do I download grub4dos for install?
Want to avoid the electromagnetic radiation from wifi & bluetooth.
Surely with all the puppy linux experts here, someone must have a idea on how to do this
I know how to disable wifi and blue tooth in windows.
But how do you disable them in bionicpup64?
Am using a bionicpup64 on Dell Optiplex 3080 Desktop.
It uses Intel integrated CPU.
What about cirrus.nomodeset=1?
Been doing more research on puppy boot options.
Seems there is a way to blacklist graphic drivers.
For example.
radeon.nomodeset=1
And what about loadmodules.
So, what do I do to blacklist the cirrus driver?
Have done some research on ZFS.
Looks like it is for entire hard drive, and not partitions.
Too bad.
That leaves BtrFS for a more stable file system.
Can puppy linux use BtrFS partitons instead of ext4?
Think it's a old zenial puppy linux with chromium browser in it.
