rcrsn51 Totally appreciate the donations. The entire infrastructure has become more expensive and is also actually far more than I should spend as well. But I feel it's still worth it. I understand how medical issues can change things radically. My ex-wife and my youngest brother are days away from ...

Re: How to add boot support for megaraid controller (PERC 5i)? <SOLVED>

Could you elaborate how to use initrd.img? I think you can just modify the boot stanza's in the grub.cfg or menu.lst like shown in the example: Open the one that is relevant to you and in the boot stanza's on the initrd line Change: initrd /my_frugal_install_dir/initrd.gz To: initrd /my_frugal ...

Re: KLA-Plasma-KDE-CE ( stable release )

@Gnimmelf possibly install and try out cpupower-gui from the Arch Linux repo's

Preinstalled in the KLV's is the command line version cpupower which does a good job setting the CPU operating frequencies.

Re: Studio 13.37 3.3

I got Studio 13.37.3.3 from somewhere for free. I use it, I like it. It inspired some of the work to arrange KLV-Airedale-RT and KLV-Spectr-RT to be ready to be assembled quickly for use in the music studio or live performances. Some compose and record music with these KLV's . I have recommended ...

Re: Question about Kernel Configuration for Puppys

At this time all of the KLV's can use Puppy Linux huge kernels that are usrmerge or converted to usrmerge and the firmware fdrv 's are interchangeable as they are with Puppy Linux . Most of the Void Linux kernels I extracted are similar in assembly to the huge Puppy Linux kernels only the initrd.gz ...

Also does it matter that the firmware used here indicates it's for 6.9.1 -> 01firmware-6.9.1_1.sfs? No not really. I had to use the last Puppy Linux woof-CE kernel-kit produced firmware (fdrv) to assemble 01firmware-6.9.1_1.sfs . I couldn't get the kernel-kit to produce any usable fdrv after this ...

Re: Question about Kernel Configuration for Puppys

The tie between the kernel version and the firmware packages makes the problem worse because some take firmware from a distro with an old kernel, so it doesn't include everything needed by the more recent kernel. Huge problem is the woof-CE kernel-kit will no longer reliably assemble a firmware ...
