Re: Back working on Ubuntu WeeDogLinux

I attempted to build xbps in Fossapup64.....it almost worked. The compile errors out quite deep in the process. Now I wonder if I should chase down why the compile stopped and see if I can get a finished version. I have no idea if xbps compiled in a Puppy Linux will actually do anything of use but ...

Re: Back working on Ubuntu WeeDogLinux

Currently seems to be the first, but some kind of logic tends to whisper in my ear that the second is the most longterm likely... I agree, confusing....but it does appear the second option will be the one. Although it might be possible some of the co-authors of xbps are still with Void Linux I ...

Re: Automated compiling & packaging, using Arch Linux build scripts

sc0ttman To just get started I tried for the first run: ./arch-pkgbuild-download zoneminder ./arch-pkgbuild-compile zoneminder to get a feel for it and without any expectation that it would first, even be in the recipe repos and secondly, if it is, that the build would complete successfully. So I ...

Re: Automated compiling & packaging, using Arch Linux build scripts

sc0ttman I am going full speed into trying out the scripts! I am big fan and a regular user of Pkg and also running some of wiak's WeeDog64-Arch OS builds and various stages of Archpup's so I have delved into using the Arch collection of build scripts. I also experiment with Void Linux's xbps-src ...

open a terminal and type:

Code: Select all

cpan App::cpanminus

install and then type:

Code: Select all

cpanm Data::Dumper

this will add the PERL module that is missing.

Re: How to make a cut-down version of Puppy Linux?

my reasons for a "cut down" version was to offer a small OS with a powerful camera security package on it that was going to run headless without any extras that did not directly relate to the camera system. The idea was for very small micro computers that are fan-less and can be disguised as a book ...
