Vanilla Dpup 10.0.68 - wireless hardware not recognized on a Lenovo laptop
The biggest obstacle I see now is that the wireless hardware was not recognized.
The laptop is equipped with a Realtek RTL8852BE PCIe 802.11ax Wireless Network Controler [10ec:b852].
Is there any way to get ...

My installation of FreeTube Portable on Fossa 9.5 has suddenly gone haywire. It opens up ok, I type something in the search box, click on a video, then it just flashes hysterically and the video doesn't start playing.
Ever since I first installed it ages ago it's always been ok, never seen this ...

I see icons for Connman in /usr/share/connman_ui_gtk/icons
Maybe the icon on your system is the same color as the main system tray and therefore not visible?

Re: Can user spot be frugally out of ram?
Run a browser as spot with profile & cache not in ram but rather on static media.
You are usually root on puppy systems. It is therefore not necessary to confirm everything with a password.
When you start, for example, the browser as spot, you limit its permissions only to the /home/spot folder ...

A fully functional youtube without ads is a paid service, I think.
For ad-free playback, it is possible to use the Freetube app, for example.

However if it is a large compressed file gz, iso .img it doesn't show individual files and appears to freeze while the operation is going on in the background.
I always assumed this was normal behavior. An .iso file or similar is copied as just one single item. These files (like .iso) tend to be ...

Palemoon has always seemed more cumbersome to me than e.g. Firefox (in Bionicpup64, Fossapup64 and sometimes in Fatdog), including playing videos on YT.
So I think what dimkr says explains some things.
Back then I used Palemoon more for lighter things like reading the forum ...

Can AppImage applications also be inserted into the Applet Panel?
I think you first need to create a .desktop file in /usr/share/applications for that AppImage.
You can use the .desktop file from another similar application (duplicate and rename to name_of_the_AppImage.desktop).
Then open it ...

In the long run I prefer convenience, ie pupmode 13 without periodic saving.

Bump. So far there have only been 29 votes . Your vote matters.

Each booted Puppy runs in a specific pupmode. No need to know the details.
You can simply go to Menu -> System ...

This app is called conky.
As you can see, it monitors the system and provides its output (configurable) on the desktop.
Of course you can disable it if you don't like it.
