Re: FreeTube-portable; new release - now @ v0.19.1...
My installation of FreeTube Portable on Fossa 9.5 has suddenly gone haywire. It opens up ok, I type something in the search box, click on a video, then it just flashes hysterically and the video doesn't start playing.
Ever since I first installed it ages ago it's always been ok, never seen this ...

I see icons for Connman in /usr/share/connman_ui_gtk/icons
Maybe the icon on your system is the same color as the main system tray and therefore not visible?

Re: Can user spot be frugally out of ram?
Run a browser as spot with profile & cache not in ram but rather on static media.
You are usually root on puppy systems. It is therefore not necessary to confirm everything with a password.
When you start, for example, the browser as spot, you limit its permissions only to the /home/spot folder ...

A fully functional youtube without ads is a paid service, I think.
For ad-free playback, it is possible to use the Freetube app, for example.

However if it is a large compressed file gz, iso .img it doesn't show individual files and appears to freeze while the operation is going on in the background.
I always assumed this was normal behavior. An .iso file or similar is copied as just one single item. These files (like .iso) tend to be ...

Re: Is it time to reconsider putting Pale Moon browser in Puppy versions
Palemoon has always seemed more cumbersome to me than e.g. Firefox (in Bionicpup64, Fossapup64 and sometimes in Fatdog), including playing videos on YT.
So I think what dimkr says explains some things.
Back then I used Palemoon more for lighter things like reading the forum ...

In the long run I prefer convenience, ie pupmode 13 without periodic saving.

Latest Fatdog64 (v. 813).
Its .iso has slightly over 500 Mb.
I didn't try specifically with a CD but it works for me with DVD+RW, including multisession support (on win7 laptop).
