Re: mklive - 'cosmetic' issue?

Sorry for late responce. Very good job fred :) I would just like to add a note here. The problem was not the number of the squashfs files . It was the sum of their characters. The same problem can occur even with just a few files with big filenames. . That is why I believe that this internal renamin...

Re: Build script option : finit support for many squashfs files

I didn't notice any difference in behavior cause of the old-truncated 01-filessystem.squashfs. Probably it would be noticeable only if you'd use script e.g. remaster as it depends on some things. I'd be happy to change the default code in the initrd but the mounted module names all need to have .sq...

Build script option : finit support for many squashfs files

Hello. This is related to the discussion we did here : https://forum.puppylinux.com/viewtopic.php?p=34970&hilit=finit#p34970 To sum it up : There is a problem if the size of the text of the squashfs filenames exceed a limit. This is kernel related. Each time I run the build script I have to modi...

Re: Setting up UEFI laptop with Windows 10 to multi-boot (Solved)

(talking for both EFI and bios) LICK (run the comnand line version -not the GUI) would be my first option. Worst case scenario is that you will not see the LICK entry. Make sure that fast boot is disabled. Disabling Secure boot is not always necessary. Be certain that your windows disk is not bitloc...

Re: Bullseye won't change Intel 730 I3-13100 integrated Graphics card resolution

k-6.3.0-2-amd64-sid.tar.gz works ok in bullseye. Nice, but note there can be a disadvantage with this 'sid' kernel, if you need the kernel-headers for compiling it's nearly impossible. With the kernel from bullseye-backports (currently v6.1) there's no such problem, tell me if you're interested and...

Please run lspci again. Are you now loading the i915 kernel driver? Supposedly, Xorg is now using the modesetting driver instead of falling back to VESA like before. The PC is packaged to be tranfered I'll be able to try it either at the end of this week or next week. -------------------------- The...

I even applied the "file overlay limit fix" in finit (initrd1.xz) and also worked!

Thank you both. :) I have tried both solutions in the past. Google Chrome - Reduce disk access to increase speed in USB drive
