I followed some instructions found in this forum to update the certificate, running the command
Code: Select all
update-ca-certificates
but I didn't create any new certificates.

Re: Intel AC-7260 internal WIFI not found on Bionic Pup 32 19.03
I'd try the older bionicpup32-8.0+0-uefi.iso
Your problem happened to me, my wifi card is not detected by Bionicpup32 19.03 in my ACER Aspire One ZA3, but works fine with bionicpup32-8.0+0-uefi.iso
I had run the "delta" updates on the original bionicpup32-8.0+0-uefi, so Iḿ actually running ...

Also, if you need to make a PDF to be filled with data, you need to create a "PDF form" and add fields, they can be text or tick boxes, with different formats.

Re: Directory compare & backup - suggestions?
Well - my first fail with grsync is that it did not "merge" - it just "copied".
ie: I tried to copy recent "familia" files into old "familia" (on other disk) and it copied the whole source "familia" directory inside the destination "familia" directory.
ie: destination disk now has /familia ...

Re: Directory compare & backup - suggestions?
But, to me, the most useful tool I've found is "syncthing" (no affiliation, https://syncthing.net/ ) to backup on different computers.
Before going the rsync route about 4 years ago, I was extensively using syncthing, and it seemed great, a viable alternative to something like dropbox, but I ...

Re: Hours and hours trying to setup printer
I see you successfully installed the foomatic driver. From there, you should be able to print the CUPS printer test page. If not, check the default options for your printer, delete any other printer you have installed, or delete everything from CUPS and start from scratch installing just this driver.

Re: Hours and hours trying to setup printer
According to this site, your printer is supported by the foo2zjs free software printer driver:

You probably need to install that driver and use that instead of the hplip driver. It happens ...

To boot from a CD, download the ISO file, and copy the ISO to the CD with the ISO option in your CD burning app, not copying the files . It should boot without issues. If not, I'd burn the CD again.
In slow machines, I burn ...

It seems VENTOY ( https://ventoy.net/en/doc_linux_gui.html) did the trick.
Downloaded ventoy, intalled it to the USB drive, and copied a puppy ISO file to the 1st USB partition as explained, and the computer booted from the USB drive without issues.

Re: Can't boot from USB, partition not found
@fernan The BIOSes of some very old machines have trouble with the modern UEFI-compatible Puppy ISOs.
You might try making your USB drive with another tool like Rufus.
Well, Rufus was 100% fail, the computer didn't even boot, just a blinking "_" on the screen.
I'll give up trying to boot from ...

Re: Can't boot from USB, partition not found
setting "root=(hd0,2)" in grub.cfg .
Nothing wrong in doing this.
That is just another way to identify the drive and partition.
That was the way it was done, before the use of UUID.
UUID is used, because it is specific, and only that partition, can have that identifier. It never changes ...

I'll try those different ways.

I've managed to ...

The USB drive works on that computer under windows. It's a Kingston DTI/512 Data Traveler.

Yes, just 1 minute ago, that same USB flash boots perfectly in another computer, so it's hardware related, something in this computer doesn't recognize that uuid thing.
