Re: Debdog-full-install EFI

Fred you are a true super hero, many thanks for fixing this. I am happy enough with Antix full install, it does all I require from it. The EFI readme instructions on the live cd work well so the whole live cd can sit there for use when I need a network connection. Old habits dye hard and I always li...

Re: Debdog-full-install EFI

Hi guys. I am back again. I went off on a trip around the distro's to see if I could find a true "no systemd" full install, only because I had a bee in my bonnet about being forced to accept it. What happened to freedom of choice and why do I need systemd files to switch off things I don't...

Re: Debdog-full-install EFI

Hi Fred and thanks so much for the swift reply Yes I still have it set up as described, there is ReadMe-UEFI file on the ISO which I have followed and copied the correct files to the correct place and all works extremely well but only in live mode. I am looking to do a full install as read write wit...

Debdog-full-install EFI

Hi guys. It's been a while since I have needed help but I am confused with uefi booting. I have been flawlessly running a debdog full install in my shed for a good while and been very happy with it until now. It has happened again, some local scumbag has stolen the laptop I was using for my engraving...

Re: BusterDog + build system (no-systemd)

Yep. I do 3D printing among other things. Using the slic3r appimage works well for me and integrates with Pronterface without issue, also slic3r-prusa works from apt without redirecting files.

Re: Bullseye build script

I found a tickbox in terminal preferences to get rid of unsafe paste popup, hope it works unticking it.
I still have the add a workspace on middle button and found no useful help online to disable that as yet.

Re: Bullseye build script

It's all looking good and I've only broke it a few times recently so I must be learning something or remembering it. Is there a way of getting rid of this annoying popup? I also get one asking me to add a workspace when I push middle button on any blank screen, probably not an issue for most people ...

Re: How to control Python with Yad?

Just looked back at previous attempts and I was quite close to solving it but went off on a tangent and missed the point again. At one time I had imported sys and followed a tutorial to no avail but looking at the changes Rockedge has made I see I wasn't far away. I am so chuffed to get this working...

Re: How to control Python with Yad?

You've done it!!! absolutely amazing, thank you so much.
4 days and sleepless nights of head scratching, reading, thinking, trying and you do it in a few minutes.
Maybe I shouldn't be so stubborn and ask for help sooner.
It's now working perfectly many thanks indeed.

How to control Python with Yad?

Hi. I know this is the wrong place to ask for this sort of help and I hope to be forgiven for that. I don't belong to many groups and rarely need help but with all the knowledge and talent here I hope to solve my nightmare with this issue. Basically I have found a python script which I like to use a...

... without having all the crap... Please explain. You are happy to use version X that a developer provides, but any updates s/he makes is automatically crap? Re: Bullseye build script

Hi again. I am still building and breaking and loving it.
Question I have this time is:
Is there a way I can upgrade only installed software without having all the crap that apt upgrade wants to make me have?
I know the --no-install-recommends command but that doesn't always work either.

As you say it's a matter of taste / preference, some like XFCE very much .... Personally, I could never see the appeal of XFCE. Re: Buster dog is great. Will there be a Bullseye dog?

Worked perfect first time Fred.
Booted to live system.
Used Synaptic to mark all updates and it only showed the install scripts to updated.
Writing this from my newly Full-installed system with changes made in live.
