Re: Midori Browser Portable 64-bit

Hello Yolhurt, the script is looking for Midori as a bz2 package, but if you go to the download site: https://github.com/goastian/midori-desktop/releases you will see the latest is available as tar.gz, txz or as a .pet. Just download one of these, shutdown Midori, delete your old Midori folder, then ...

If you download https://github.com/ayoisaiah/f2/release ... d64.tar.gz then you can extract the f2 binary. To have it it your path, just move it to /usr/bin/

Edit: I changed the link from the development release to the stable version.

Problem solved! I just dloaded the Perplexity AI appimage, mentioned by Sonny here: https://www.forum.puppylinux.com/viewtopic.php?t=11780 , and asked: where should puppy linux aim for in the future Perplexity then responded: PLAYGROUND LLM served by Perplexity Labs Hello! I think we should refer questions, about where Puppy should aim in the future, and what is & isn't a proper Puppy Linux, to
ChatGpt, so that we can receive a definitive AI assisted response.

Hello David, I usually use Mike Walsh's or Fred's portable browsers, rather than appimages, but as a test, I just downloaded the latest LibreWolf Appimage, made it executable, ran it then tried the import bookmarks option. Initially, trying to find a bookmarks.html file, I had to click "Other ...

Re: Grub2Config PROBLEM -- Coder(s) Needed !!!

If I understand correctly, you previously installed Puppy via Grub2, then subsequently deleted Puppy and/or the Linux partition containing Puppy. If this is the case, possibly your current "ghost" entries are referenced in residual bootloader files of the (non-deleted) EFI boot partition created by ...

Hello Radky, I too can report success, after making the changes to line 1761 as you suggested. Unfortunately I've still had to go back to Limine bootloader, because when I boot grub2, it keeps using "ghost" entries that point to non-existing installs from a previous attempt at installing grub2. I've ...

No, line 360 isn't causing nvme01n1 into nvme0n. If I run version test3, I get the error message about missing boot flag on nvme01n1. But if I edit test3, & change instances of fdisk -l to parted -l , on lines 551 & 701, then I get a successfully installed grub.cfg to nvme01n1. Success.png However ...

Good detective work Wizard. I know you say Nvme drives aren't covered, but I had to try. If I alter the two instance of fdisk -l to parted -l , then it gets past the error message that "Boot flag not found on nvme0n1", and identifies puppy installations, as shown in imagea, but proceeding, then ...

If I try & use grub2config I get the same error message as Wizard, even though gparted shows boot & esp flags, and gdisk has the first partition, correctly, as EF00. Yes, mine is stripped whereas Rockedge's isn't. Just run:

Code: Select all

strip wxyzv

on Rockedge's version, and they should be similar sizes.

Hello Greengeek,

why don't you have a go at compiling it? Just download the source & extract it somewhere, change directory to the extracted source, then:

./configure --prefix=/usr
make
make install

I compiled it on LxPup64 & it has to be one of the easiest things I've ever compiled/

I've been using puppy since 2004, and maybe 10 years ago had a bank account hacked. The website looked like my regular bank website, and the hackers only took ...
