Re: Flashing Red Battery Symbol

Hi GusCE6 and Keef . I probably shouldn't butt in (Keef knows a lot more than I do), but I am a bit paranoid about laptop batteries, partially because I don't have much knowledge, and have been caught out with something like this in the past. First off, I realise that you don't have a hard drive, bu...

MX21.3-Debian11.2 and 12-Fatdog64 [Solved]

Hi rcrsn51 . As I was mixing things up too much in the other thread https://forum.puppylinux.com/viewtopic.php?p=94056#p94056 , I thought I should report this here. Once again Baldrick presumes something, and he is wrong. I thought I should check how Debian 11.2.0-amd64 went with booting Fatdog64 on...

Re: 900Alpha and other things [Solved]

Hi jamesbond . Thank you. It is good that you have such a clear head, and knowledge to see through all this. I should have realised, as you had already mentioned this in earlier threads (and in the Users forum area, even emphasising the specifics of the situation), and I had already been checking fi...

Re: 900Alpha and other things- Part 2

Hi again. More pain and suffering for you, I'm afraid. I was going to post about this last night, but, after my error with the tune2fs -l effort, regarding Debian 12's ext4 filesystem, I thought I should check things again first. I thought I would try accessing a Debian 12 encrypted LVM, and other, ...

Re: 900Alpha and other things

Hi rcrsn51 . I was using the normal humongous initrd. I have a suspicion that I might have unsuccessfully tried a nano-initrd approach on one occasion with Debian 12, before I cleared the system, yet again, and started over. As I have thought about it more, I don't think it is a reflection on Debian...

Hi. First a number of apologies, and thanks. jamesbond please accept my apologies for the distraction of the ext4 filesystem questions at a time when you and the rest of the Fatdog Team are concentrating on Fatdog900Alpha. I hope I haven't "dropped you in it" with respect to the extra work...

[Edit- Although there might be some info in this post that may, or may not, be of use, the post is all over the place. I wasn't thinking clearly. Re: FD900Alpha-MXLinux21.3 40_custom boot problem

Hi again. I feel it is important that the point is made that this problem is not a bug in, nor in any other way a reflection on, Fatdog64-900 Alpha. It is just that this the first time I have personally come across this (others are probably more advanced, and I am behind the times). As had been poin...

Hi. Apologies if this is not really the correct place for this, but it does relate to booting Fatdog, and I intended to reference the info in the first post in this thread. A very rough and sloppy attempt at using Limine Installer with Fatdog64-812

Hi BarryK et all. Following some posts made in the thread superchook had started ( https://forum.puppylinux.com/viewtopic.php?t=6396 ), I thought I would make a half-baked attempt at installing Limine Installer in Fatdog64-812. Re: A question about boot parameters

Hi superchook . I am butting in where I probably shouldn't, but following on from Dr Dan's post, if you are using a savefile rather than a save folder, does that savefile end with an extension (e.g. ".ext4")? If so, might adding that to the end of the "fd64save-someone_local" par...

Hi Flash . Please accept my apologies. I had tried to cover the info, but messed it up (as usual :)). The boot medium is a USB drive. Re: How to configure Grub after partitioning, then installing Linux Mint and Fatdog?(Solved)

Hi superchook . Cool. It is good that you have it working. It probably won't help, but is there a timeout setting option in the GRUB2 config for the Mint on the second laptop? It may (I am running off the top of my head again, which is always unreliable) be under /etc/defaults/grub (or something lik...

Hi Spright . I think I can vaguely recall running 2.14X by ttuuxxx on a Pentium 2 laptop a long time ago. The laptop is no longer with me, so I cannot confirm. It was also only a test run, and I didn't pursue using the laptop much, but I think it worked. 2.14X might still be available from smokey01....

Hi JakeSFR. (I cheated and used th...
