Re: can localsend be ported to puppy?

Actually I am not using the appimage.....but extracted the tarball and put that stuff into ~/my-applications and launched it from there by clicking on the binary. rockedge Erik: This is elegant and the easiest solution. The binary only works after installing the libayatana-appindicator3-1_0.5.4-2 f...

can localsend be ported to puppy? (solved)

Localsend is a free, open-source, cross-platform file sharing gui that works well in linux (?puppy). I use it to transfer files/folders between my cell phone photos and 2 PCs at home. It has replaced gftp in linuxmint PCs at home. I have tried tar, deb, Appimage( with chmod +x) but can't get any of ...

Looking at what this needs for dependency software, Bionicpup64 is not going to have some of it, if any. Could try running the appimage from a terminal and see if any errors are given. Try using the Linux portable tar package you can get from here. https://www.shotcut.org/download/ The web page giv...

Re: can't install *.deb file,

@gychang Looks like there's a small mistake in the deb2xbps script (message about "return"), but it could well be that it succeeded despite that (looks like IMO). Did you try xbps-install -R binpkgs rofi-1.5.4_1 ? (as suggested in the output) fredx181 Yes, I did. After installing and rebo...

Re: Reusing passive speakers?

@Jasper Micca A250 is tiny 5.63 x 3.23 x 1.26" and powerful. Don't need banana plugs, bare wire worked fine (even to your speaker). I considered Fosi for $10 more, with significantly more power.

dual monitor, how to display workspace 2 in a new monitor?

I hooked up an old monitor I wasn't using in FP65-CE4 setup. With xrandr and arandr I am able to view the new monitor as an extension of a single workspace (WS). I usually work with 6 virtualscreen/workspaces. Is it possible to display even WS in new monitor (2,4,6) and odd WS in the old monitor?

I boot all my desk/laptops from a USB stick because, apart from other advantages already mentioned, it allows me to shut off the internal "rust hard drive". I do this immediately after boot.

to mount a partition on boot, is even easier in puppy. Launch pmount and and click where the red pencil arrow is pointing to and u should get a drop-down menu click on the mount on boot. From now on will automount on boot, no need to fool with fstab.
