Re: Chromebooks (Run and install Puppy)

Even if powerwashing reset the BIOS, it wouldn't be a big job to restore the SeaBIOS. And none of that would affect the stuff on your USB/SD drives.

Re: How to transfer files from PC to PC wirelessly ?

Is there any way or application by which you can find the IP addresses of computers and other devices currently active on a network? PeasyPort. Scan for MAC addresses and it will also show the IP addresses. But if you are transferring files between machines, you still have to walk to the Receiver (...

Re: Transfers within Lan

Various solutions were proposed. Some of which can be applied without regard to what operating systems the computers run.

If you are just transferring files between Puppies, all you need is gnetcat. Remove the fake .gz extension.

The only dependency is lzop which is already in some Puppies.

Re: Boot BW64 from NVME drive in PCIe adapter fails

I once handled this situation using the Starter Kit with a "split install". The main bootable drive had a skeleton install of the Kit containing the vmlinuz and initrd. Its grub entry had the "from=" and "changes=" arguments pointing to the target install on the non-boo...

If you want to see something run FAST, put an NVME module in a USB3 enclosure and use it as an external hard drive.

Where is the not obsolete version? If it is to be an included application in future Puppy Linux variants it needs to be accessible for a woof-CE build run from a reachable repository.

It's in the Starter Kit project, available through Fred's repo. But that version is not Puppy-compatible.

Yes. But years ago, busybox dc changed its syntax and PeasyPDF was updated accordingly. Puppy continues to use an obsolete version.

Re: The Debian-Live Daedalus Starter Kit

I have posted here a kernel upgrade package based on Daedalus Backports k6.6.13. Just drop the files into your "live" folder. This kernel upgrade serves two purposes: 1. It has drivers for some newer WiFi cards that have entered the mainstream kernel and will now work OOTB. 2. It has the a...

The Daedalus k6.1.0-9-amd64 wifi driver pack is here.

It contains the rtl 88x2bu driver which supports the obda:b812 device. In your PeasyWifi Config, make sure to set "DRIVER=nl80211".

According to my notes, the old protocol "DRIVER=wext" no longer works with this device.

rebuilding it is hard when you can't easily find what is missing.
