Re: HP m209dwe printer

Yes, Bigpup, that is what I used, tried versions 24 and 22. Neither will import the dependencies. I think it is because HPLIP calls apt-get to install them. Not present in Fossapup. Tried downloading synaptic, but it would not run. Suggestions?

HP m209dwe printer

Has anyone been able to install the HP m209dw series of printers in Fossapup 9.5 (or any Puppy distro)? The installer, HPLIP, seems run fine, but when it gets to the part when it installs missing dependencies, it halts with the message that it can't load libjpeg (which is already in the /lib ...

Re: Looking for speech-to-text software.

I don't know of any stand-alone STT programs for Linux, but the Chrome browser can be equipped with "Speech to text" and "Dictation for Gmail" extensions. I use both with Fossapup and Mike Walsh's portable Chrome, and both work quite well.

Speech-to-text for Puppy? (Bionicpup or Fossapup)

Does anyone know of a speech to text (STT) converter for Puppy? Specifically Bionicpup or Fossapup with Firefox browser?

Thanks, Mike. It seems to work perfectly in bionicpup64 8.0 and fossapup64 6.06 right out of the box.

Re: Does anybody here use Puppy Linux as their main OS ?

Been using linux since Puppy 3.0, but keep a copy of Windows 7 around to run my favorite RC flight simulator and a proprietary hearing aid programmer (not available in for linux). Didn't feel inclined to get these running in Wine. Played around with a half dozen or more varieties of linux, but love ...

Re: Uncle Mike's 'confused'....like, REALLY confused!! about chrooting

Thank you, Mike and s243a, but if I understand Mike's last note, this is pretty much what I would have to do to set up any chroot jail. Don't know if I have that much need to do so, or the patience to try.

Re: Uncle Mike's 'confused'....like, REALLY confused!! about chrootinig

My apologies, Mike, but I can't find watchdog's simple script for running a puppy within another puppy. Could you please provide a link, or the script itself?
Thanks,
BS

Yes, I had the same problem. I replaced the built-in video board with and after-market card. Seemed to solve the problem.

Re: Is there a Puppy for 3D printing and/or radio control?

Lekium, I have been using Arduino IDE v1.8.5 in Bionicpup64, but I just downloaded v1.8.13 (the current version) from https://www.arduino.cc/en/software. I double clicked to expand it, and then just double clicked the extracted "arduino" file to run it. Seems to work just fine.

Thanks, Bigpup. I have always just edited .Xdefaults directly, but this is so much nicer and more convenient.

Re: Is there a Puppy for 3D printing and/or radio control?

Thanks to all of you who replied. Flash, do you know the name of that Puppy or where it is located? s243a, which software are you using? JASpup, Tinkercad is a great little no-cost tool for assembling many simple printable objects. I use it frequently. Its .stl files work fine with Repetier or Cura ...

Is there a Puppy for 3D printing and/or radio control?

Is anyone using any version of Puppy for radio control or 3D printing applications? If so I would like to learn what you are using with which puppies. I use Repetier, Betaflight, eePe, Cura, Arduino Avrdude, and Arduino IDE with Precise, Bionicpup, Xenialpup, and/or Tahrpup. Not all apps run in all ...
