Re: EasyOS Kirkstone-series version 5.2.2

Thank you, Barry. The 'no' is the default norwegian version. The 'nn' version was made by dialect fanatics, and for some reason they decided to use 'nb' for the normal langauge version, to separate it from the 'nn', instead of simply using 'no'. Yeah, I know!

Re: EasyOS Kirkstone-series version 5.2.1

Hi BarryK. I downloaded 5.2.1, but it does not have any norwegian location, or norwegian keyboard setup. I managed to open it with danish language and country, but please add the missing langages. The lists of countries and languages were very short. The network would not connect, it could not see a...

Re: Why so few "New posts"?

This is an old thread, I have read it earlier, but I have not found the words for a comment. I had 1760 recorded posts in murga-linux, but it felt like many more. I have 33 posts in this forum. The old forum was fun, and friendly, I think it was quite unique in the way it's members treated each othe...

Re: EasyOS Kirkstone-series version 5.0

Thank you, BarryK, I'll download Vivaldi deb and play. :-) In my Puppys and EasyPups, Vivaldi is installed to /opt/. I open the /opt/vivaldi/vivaldi script, and add --no-sandbox to the last line. # Note: exec -a below is a bashism. exec -a "$0" "$HERE/vivaldi-bin" --no-sandbox $@...

Re: EasyOS Kirkstone-series version 5.0

Hi BarryK, I just booted EasyOS 5.0 from a USB stick on an old Dell E6230 laptop, and it works great, thank you. A Dell E6400 laptop did not like EasyOS at all. I have used EasyPup 2.4.91 on my main PC since it was published, and I use a Vivaldi browser. I am new to EasyOS, so I wonder how I can use...

Re: Which old Puppies would be best for different uses?

At the moment I'm only asking this question out of curiosity, so it's all hypothetical for now, but here we go. As I have a number of machines to play around with it stands to reason they don't all need to be set up to do the same tasks. I have been in the same situation for many years, but on my d...

Re: Accessing Android phone files

I have a Huawei Mate 20 Pro. The MTP connection program in tahr64 has never worked for me. Connecting with a cable from USB C on the phone to the USB port on the PC, automatically start the phone's charging process, but dragging down a menu on the phone, lets me choose an access to the photo Gallery...

I have had a related problem, mikeslr is touching the subject. My tahr64 would not show thumbnails, and the folder named /root/.thumbnails/normal was inaccessible. I could not delete it, I could not move it, everything was denied, I also tried to manipulate the save file, I asked this forum, but not...

greengeek, this is the window popping up by the Print command in the Vivaldi 4.3 menu. I use this for printing from a website, I mostly use Xpdf to read .pdf files.

Vivaldi relased a new version today, 4.3, for both PC and Android. I write this from my Vivaldi 4.3 in tahr64-6.0.6.

BTW; Vivaldi 4.3 plays html5, which my 4.2 complained about not doing in tahr64.

One of my main reasons for using multiple browsers is I often print webpages to pdf or to my printer and different browsers have different capabilities when it comes to capturing and formatting the printed output. Hi Mike. Tahrpup's libs'n'stuff are really 'long in the tooth' by now. That is a Palemoon problem, not a Vivaldi problem. A method not mentioned here, is of course one of the original methods from the first Puppys, which is my preferred way of doing things. It is ideal for a PC with a R/W disc station, and you don't even need to have a harddisk in the PC! Nowadays, the latest PCs unfortunately don't have a disc bay at ...
