Re: Bookworm Pup64 10.0

How to compile xapp 2.6.1? At a glance it looks like you would compile it with meson and ninja When asking questions like that it would be helpful if you could post a link to source code and any other information so that we don't have to go searching for it. http://deb.debian.org/debian/pool/main/x...

I don't like to add a "-" line in the saved folder, for example, I like aaabbbsave. How can I modify it to ensure that it will load when I start up?

I hope that the XXXSave directory under the installation Puppy directory can be recognized and mounted. How should I modify it?

Re: Unable to recognize the saved folder.

When shutting down, saving data in a folder, I usually name it aaasave. In other Puppy Linux, it can be recognized and booted normally during startup, but it cannot recognize the mount when Bookworm Pup64 starts up. How should it recognize it?

@dancytron - this kernel is on archive.org (see below). I usually wait a few days after posting there, then remove mediafire links. The forum kernels section should reflect this change. Sorry, I forgot to come back to this thread & fix it. https://archive.org/download/Puppy_Linux_Huge-Kernels/h...

Previously, when using other Puppy Linux, it was just a matter of compiling the kernel source code and. config directly. If so, yes; it CAN be done.....but you lose all the sandboxing, hence you've immediately lost Chrome's security advantages. Unfortunately, you can't 'run-as-...

Re: Puppy Network Managers - SNS, Frisbee, NetWiz, Pgprs, Pupdial

You can Google/DuckDuckGo for resolv.conf for more information. It should be dhcpcd that creates and modifies /etc/resolv.conf. In the documentation, if resolv.conf is a symlink, then dhcpcd will not overwrite resolv.conf. AFAIK, every time your network connects and each time it reconnects, dhcpcd ...

Re: Puppy Network Managers - SNS, Frisbee, NetWiz, Pgprs, Pupdial

Can Frisbee modify dns alone? AFAIK, you can do exactly that by configuring your preferred DNS address or addresses in file /etc/resolv.conf.head for example: #CloudFlare nameserver 1.1.1.1 nameserver 1.0.0.1 #IBM Quad9 nameserver 9.9.9.9 #end head For each url (web page name) this will try each dn...

Re: Puppy Network Managers - SNS, Frisbee, NetWiz, Pgprs, Pupdial

How does Frisbee connect hidden WiFi? For me, Frisbee does not connect to hidden networks, because there is no way to tell it the network name (SSID) since it is hidden when Frisbee scans for available networks. But supporting hidden networks seems reasonable, to allow users to hide their own netwo...

@linuxunix
If you want the patched kernel source, here is 5.10.83, with the patches that 1kernel.sh applies:

http://distro.ibiblio.org/easyos/source/kernel/5.10.x/

It has the latest aufs patch, for 5.10.82+ kernels.

I will leave it online for about a week.

thank you very much!

I don't know why it failed to compile. It compiles ok for me. "Asked a lot questions" sounds ominous. It seems very much like the patches are not getting applied properly. After asking you to enter "5.10.81" and then enter again, the script should only ask to press enter to conf...

Re: How to patch the kernel?

patch-5.10.81 is supposed to be applied to 5.10.0. It contains the delta between 5.10.0 and 5.10.81. Either download the 5.10.81 sources and skip the patch, or get 5.10.0 and apply the patch (and apply it only once). Thanks for answering! This can happen if the kernel you're trying to patch is not 5.10.0, or if you applied the patch already.
