How to record what you hear from your speaker
Server-less way to record what you hear Preamble This is an instruction on how to record the sound that you hear from your own speaker, using ALSA, without using any audio server. If you already run a audio-server (pulseaudio, pipewire, jack, aloopd, alsa-loop, etc), leave now and read the ...

Re: How to record what the PC is playing?
How to do it: 1. Buy a soundcard that has a hardware mix-out support (most soundcards made before year 2000 have this feature). 2. Run pulseaudio and configure it to "record what you hear". If option (1) and (2) don't appeal to you, then read here . EDIT: post moved to its own HOW-TO to make it more ...

We already have "fbida" (https://github.com/kraxel/fbida) which more or less the same thing.
That being said, we have added "fim" the repo too.
Oh, that, and "syncterm" as well for whoever needs it.

Re: Fonts and asceticism
As to the point of lack-of-condemnation being the equivalent of showing support, I can't help but see that as a hallmark technique of Hegelian dialectic, in other words a 'forced choice' litmus test, forcing people, entire societies even, into a bi-polar argument. Certainly we can observe the many ...

Press C for subtitles. The song is very layered and has some hidden messages. The atmosphere and tone are very sterile. I see what you did there  I don't speak any of the slavic languages so thanks for the subtitles, I hope they're an accurate representation of what's actually being said. I ...

That's the official link of the Chromium project. The package manager of most Linux distributions ships with Chromium rather than Chrome. Download links seem to be provided here: https://www.chromium.org/getting-involved/download-chromium/ Okay, I missed this. But still, see below. What was the ...

Re: Running Browser in a Container with LXC
I just noticed that sandbox.sh cannot be executed from a non-root account: You must be root to use sandbox . Is there a way around this? No, sorry. Sandbox.sh runs "mount" command and "mount" won't work if you're not root (or if "mount" is made setuid, but that opens the pandora box ...)

How would this work if grub4dos step was eliminated? It will stop working. Reason: one less package to be concerned, as the 'real/only' intent is to boot the PC (with the FATDOG logo , of course :) ) There is no package to be concerned. Extract the boot images, use Balena Etcher, and you're done.

Re: FatDog 812 - problems with nouveau driver ???
FreeCAD seems to be having problem with nouveau in general. You need to use software opengl - which is slow, but at least, doesn't crash. Some ideas here: https://askubuntu.com/questions/861246/force-opengl-software-rendering-for-specific-programs#1149351 Other alternative is that you'll have to use ...

Re: How to create user via CLI ?
I tried to create a non-root user account from the command line interface. I noticed that /etc/default/useradd is present so I used useradd -m MyUsername . However, it complains about an invalid username irrespective of the name I use. Username can't contain capitals. I then tried adduser which ...

Re: Running Browser in a Container with LXC
So which solution provides better security to run the browser? FatDog's sandbox or pflask each executed from a non-root account? I am not a security expert, so I'm not the right guy to ask. Generally speaking however, security is commensurate with the threat, as well as the possible loss, as it is ...

dr__Dan , fsbar4roxdrv will be included as standard in the next release. You can enable/disable it from the Desktop Service Manager. We still don't have controls for the polling period etc ... we'll see if Jake is motivated enough to do it :) JakeSFR , thanks for this nifty little tools :thumbup2:

Re: Chromium Web Browser Installer?
The website you referred has no "download" link. It only has links to source code, which needs to be compiled etc before it can be used. We don't have machines big enough to build Chromium from source. Anyway, why do you bother with Chromium? You might as well use Google Chrome, for which we include ...

Most likely because the kernel-modules.sfs you specified, failed to load (or failed to be processed). Please open terminal and run lsmod . If you see an no output, that confirms it. If this is the case, can you please post your bootloader entry here. Also post the output of this: load_sfs.sh ...
