Think the best thing ever done was figuring out how to permanently disable Windows updates. Used to get paid a lot of money to undo the havoc it caused.

I can tell you from experience booting from an external usb SATA SSD that its about same speed as the soldered eMMC drive.
Would be best to check the transfer speed on the hub before all the modding. Received several from Ebay-China that had less than USB v1.0 speed.

Should I mark this thread as Solved or Closed or leave it open?
Only mark it solved if you have it fully working.

Storage Only
Comment: This should also work with 32bit Pups
This is the easiest setup.
Install the adapter and NVME drive
Partition and format the NVME:
-boot Puppy
-Menu>System>Gparted
--choose any partition table, partitions and file system(s) that fit your needs
@mikeslr
storage media --CD, USB-Stick
Suggest broadening this to include DVD, SSD and HDD.

Edit: Your pic you sent via PM shows 'enp4s8" has an IP address. Any idea how that happened?
It's an idiosyncrasy of Bionic32 and is "normal" for the ethernet connection

If you want to see something run FAST, put an NVME module in a USB3 enclosure and use it as an external hard drive.
Got the NVME to USB adapter and tested the speed, on USB 3 port it got about 437MB/s, compared with mouldy's internal NVME at 376.

Seems like "powerwash" only removes all the personal data and Google account info. Don't think it touches the bios.
