Re: Cloud puppy, advise asked...

Volhout So I need to make a user manual for this pup based on icons and screen dumps. And remove everything from the pup that is confusing. One of the objectives for Cloudpup is to isolate the user from the underlying OS/file system. That means no access to any file manager and avoid any app with a ...

snoring_cat Hi cat, I think you are missing the fdrv_fossapup64_9.5.sfs file During remaster both adrv and fdrv are merged into puppy_fossapup64_9.5.sfs, Did you try adding a fdrv to see if that fixed your connect issue? A lot of the size is browser related, configuration, extensions, etc. Keep in ...

@dancytron
Hi dan

Running chromium64_94.0.4606.54_lx_spot.sfs. Downloaded chromium-browser.gz. There isn't a chromium-browser file in usr/bin so renamed to chromium. Also noticed that the file specs 32bit. Set everything else up, but it does not run.

The OP's hardware can run almost anything. Rather than us reinvent the wheel, I would suggest trying Neverware's CloudReady which is a Chrome OS work-a-like. Run it from a 32gb USB like this: https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-32GB-Ultra-Flash-Drive/dp/B077VXV323 about $8 US. Small profile = less likely ...

Re: My article "Installing Puppy Linux"

You can multi-boot with many OS's, but it usually requires re-partitioning. Some "live" ISO's can be booted directly by grub, but the catch comes when you want persistence, the ability to save changes, documents, etc. between sessions.

Wiak knows more than I do about other distros. Puppy is unique in many ways and it's ability to "coexist" on a host operating system is one of them. Other operating systems install thousands of files to an internal drive and must have a suitable file system to support them. Puppy on the other hand ...
