Re: Dell E1505 LCD replacement
@rockedge
I'll have to check if F96-CE_4 will run on it
Both F96 and BW64 run, but F96 has no audio . F95 works with audio, it loads kernel driver snd-hda-intel.ko, F96 loads the same driver, so guessing it's related to pulse audio. Any ideas for getting the audio to work?
Thanks

This one runs a little warm, 60C+ when streaming video, but setting CPU scaling to "Conservative" helps quite a bit. Runs 64bit Puppies fine.

@paladin75
Your computer is using UEFI booting so you need to run a newer Puppy, suggest either F96CE_4 or BookwormPup64 10.0.7.
Make a bootable USB of one and then post back to proceed.
Thanks

The same kind of cooking I do.
When you booted from the HDD, on the first shut down it should have ask you if you wanted to save, then a series of questions about where and how. Did that happen?

Exactly what we need. Do you want to install Puppy to the HDD so it boots from it instead of the USB?

Re: Newcomer to Linux with some questions
@Will_Shok
The Thinkpads are rugged machines and do well with Linux, your T430 should run about any Puppy version you choose.
We still need to know:
-Puppy version (the name of the ISO file) you installed on your USB
Thanks

Re: Newcomer to Linux with some questions
Start with:
-Make and model of computer
-CPU and amount of ram, if you know it.
-Puppy version (the name of the ISO file) you installed on your USB
Thanks

@stevie pup
My USB flash drives seem to get "confused" after a lot of use. Using Gparted to re-create the MSDOS partition table seems to help sometimes.

@stevie pup
Just used MS Windows 10 and Unetbootin to make a BookwormPup64 10.0.7 USB drive. Booted without issues on both UEFI and MBR computers. Would need more details if you want to troubleshoot.

Have you looked at Grsync GUI for rsync, it's in BW64 and other Pups.

You've got enough power now to try some of the newer Pups like F96CE_4 or BookwormPup64 10.0.7.
Good save
Thanks
