Re: Average forum topic

My 2 cents. Gramps Clarity is who Gramps Clarity is. Gramps Clarity does what Gramps Clarity does. If you don't like or don't agree with what Gramps posts, why not just move along and ignore it? (the way that Gramps sometimes - but not always - ignores my posts to him too). I have not seen any of hi...

Re: Wireless mouse recommendations?

... but I’d consider a simple wireless mouse that uses a USB dongle. Any non-BT Logitech mouse would do just fine. M1xx, M2xx, M3xx all works great. In fact, almost any mouse regardless of the brand - as long as they're regular wireless (or wired) mouse, would do just fine. Avoid MS Mouse, they hav...

Re: Slacko-v0.0.5 QEMU GUI is broken

Ah, I see! I wonder the need to post two separate threads for the same issue, but that's okay, I do that too sometimes ^_^

Since there are so many versions of Slacko floating around (⌒_⌒;) do you think you can upload the script that you personally use, here, for others to look at, and perhaps, fix?

But this Intel "standardization" also caught my eye.

Err ... I'm a bit confused. The article talks about "specification". I though "specification" is not the same as "standardization", or is it one of my slow moments again?

Hi grandpa Clarity, You've got error, because -redir option has been removed since Qemu 3.1. See here for details: https://www.qemu.org/docs/master/about/removed-features.html As far as I know, the Qemu GUI is a shell script. Although I don't know much about scripting, if you post the script, I may ...

Re: How to modulate speaker output sound?

On bionicpup32 8.0, you can find 'pEqualizer Graphic Equalizer' under "Multimedia" menu. Launch that, and you will find a graphical equalizer show up. Then launch the applications you want to use. You can adjust the sliders on the equalizer and the sound will change immediately. Don't clos...

Ummm ... There's a "switch" for that. It's called 'P' (for partitions)  losetup -f -P --show whatever.img > /dev/loop5 ls /dev/loop5* > /dev/loop5 /dev/loop5p1 /dev/loop5p2 Then you just mount both partitions  Wonderful. I didn't know that. Thank you. :thumbup2:

The post that jamesbond referred to revealed the reason they Palemoon is moving out. Since Edge is a derivative of Chromium, it means any non-Chromium browsers are going to be p...

Re: ISOs can be opened - Can IMGs be opened, similarly?

The problem with .IMG is that they can represent anything, not necessarily a filesystem image. Whereas .ISO always means a CD/DVD image. To make it work, one has to detect what's inside the .IMG and then act accordingly. For example, Jafadmin 's guide, above, won't work if the .IMG is a disk image (...

Re: When did most browsers start supporting HTTPS?

@garnet the circumstances I find less an issue than how to deal with them, and my how-to involves the oldest robust browsers that support the technology, just like the newest 32-bit browsers before discontinuation (ex, Chrome 48). Ah, I see. In that case then you're aiming for a moving target. HTTP...

Re: When did most browsers start supporting HTTPS?

HTTPS is a very old technology from late 1990s ... and it has evolved since then (addition of new ciphers, retirement of old ciphers, etc - this, among other things is what stops old web browsers from being able to connect to websites when using HTTPS). But the usage of HTTPS was entirely optional. ...

Not that I know of ... unless you clone the entire disk before doing so. The bug was fixed but was re-introduced, and then fixed again. See https://github.com/jun7/rox-filer/issues/214 . Unfortunately some puppies were shipped with this buggy version Rox (Puppies published between Sep 2019 and Jul 2020), and unless you're running one of the still-maintained puppies, ther...

No, if you set to "0", it will not save anything even when you shut down. You will have to manually click the save icon on the desktop to save your session. Otherwise everything will be lost at shutdown. Setting the save interval to 0 does not stop writing to the save on shutdown or reboo...
