Re: REQUEST: if you edit a post, please leave a note

Hi I will put my three cents here, because no one (and I read the whole topic twice) has not paid attention to a certain important detail. The ability (or the lack of it) to match the title to the presented problem carries a lot of information about the author's knowledge - this is not even noticed ...

Re: Can I edit the script that launches the pdf document reader ?

Hi cobaka Over a year ago I wrote about the same problems with Evince without happy end. I suppose, that problem is "build in Evince", not to be repaired by scripts. If You have Wine use Sumatra PDF , it is Master of Art in document viewers category. Some years ago I also used Foxit Reader...

It is not for Linux OS.

Not at all. Many of diagnostic programs are running not under Windows or Linux, but under minimalistic DOS (command.com, io.sys).
AFAIK there is not Linux repairing programs for NTFS.

Hiren's BootCD can't run under Slacko, it is bootable system - boot it from usb.

2. I read on Askbuntu that deleting these files helps if the sound is down :D

Hi Puppy: BionicPup32-8 19.03 In the directory /root/.cache/ I find event-sound-cache.tdb.xxx.i686-pc-linux-gnu files: 567 size: 12 228 bytes each Are these files useful for something and can they somehow be automatically deleted? Hi

1. I think you will save yourself a lot of problems if you do the first installation on a USB flash drive and choose BionicPup32-8.0 (UPupBB-19.03) .
2. In contrast to standard Linux installations, the standard installation in Puppy is FRUGAL.

Hi solarpuppy

May be for you? 10 years ago I used on Compaq with PIII 600 ~ 1000 MHz (I don't remember details) and no more memory than 512 MB precise-5.7.1. Download generic precise-5.7.1.iso.
