Re: VanillaDpup 9.3.x

@dimkr it was a clean frugal install, but I wrote this in a wrong topic because I believe it was with a VanillaPup64 10.xx. Sorry for that; I can not even be certain which version it was.

Re: Bookworm Pup64

Frugal install on HDD. I like this BookwormPup64 (and many other pups); well: I should because Debian is my main Linux system. I just came across one problem: missing numlockx. (Copied it from another puppy.) Overall: very nice work and a very nice addition to my (small) collection of puppy's. I sha...

It seems that the numlockx file is missing in /usr/bin and also in the /root/Startup folder.

Firefox Icons

Puppy has changed the way where Firefox get's the Firefox Icons from. The icons in the chrome folder of Firefox are overwritten bij the icons of the choosen Icon-theme. It took me a while to figure that out And for those who dislike the orange-purple Firefox icons (just as I do) , you can bring back...

Re: 01micko.com EOL

@williwaw No I feel not. When the Announcements sub got started, I had high hopes for this sub. But - alas - it already got polluted. The very right place to put the downloads of any puppy IS IN the Anouncemounts sub, but because it has already been polluted a next thread (Releases) is necessary. It...

Announcements: I think all you guys that want to keep Puppy's alive and also work hard to do so, think about how you yourself use this thread. 01micko.com EOL had the right to be on this Announcemens sub, because that's what it was: an announcement. Re: 01micko.com EOL

Again: adjusted it a little.
Also mentioned that the release threat should not allow discussions. (Almost) every release has it's own threat for that and should not be in the Announcements > Releases threat. A discussion is NOT an announcement!

Re: 01micko.com EOL

I've been reading this post with interest, but also with fear. Perhaps I am way too sensitive for how words or written (or spoken), but I have the feeling that this threat gains some heat. which I really do not like. I assume things are said because they needed to be said at some point. I won't inte...

Re: Problem using Woof-CE

Thanks peebee.
BTW: I do not use a top panel, just the original puppy lay-out. I always need to remove that top panel.
In some cases: have to remove the bottom panel, and move the top panel to bottom.
In a classic puppy lay-out, one does not need a second panel. everything you need is on the desktop.

Re: Problem using Woof-CE

The issues here are easily corrected when you know your way around a puppy. At that point: no problem. One just has to correct some stuff. On the other hand: If you do not know your way around a puppy: this is a frustrating issue that shouldn't be there in the first place. An icon pointing to a wron...

Problem using Woof-CE (SOLVED)

I experience a problem, of which I think it is a woof-CE problem. I notice that many new build does not use the original icon lay-out anymore; That is fine for those who like it. But when I change it back to puppy-original, it appears that the icon in the upper left corner the file- or the director...

About VLC, I'm sorry I have been away so long but I had other issues that needed to be dealt with. I tried both synaptic and ppm; The result was the same. Frugal install of VanillaDPup64 - 9.2.16 (with a save folder). No media player is installed, so I installed VLC. When the installation was finished (took a long time) the complete system crashed.
