Re: Norton says we're all right here

"You are safe," Norton Safe Web is sure ;) I watched the result for FantasyAnime and for interest I looked at the result for the forum. https://safeweb.norton.com/report/show?url=forum.puppylinux.com Back on topic, I checked the forum on a few more "website safety check" sites a...

Re: Oh tried windows 11

Go to ventoy.net > Document to read about using ventoy. When you run ventoyplugson go to Global Control Plugin > VTOY_WIN11_BYPASS_CHECK and set to 1.

Abit NF7-S

I was really bored so I dug out my old Abit NF7-S v2 which I bought new in 2004 along with an AMD Athlon XP2500+ and a 128MB Radeon 9000, I put in 2 x 1GB Kingston DDR400 RAM. Unfortunately the Radeon died so I had to put in a cheap Nvidia MX440SE. It's got WinXP and X-Slacko using Windows boot load...

Re: Oh tried windows 11

Good luck getting win11 running on an “old” machine. With its tpm chip requirement. Even some machines from 2018 won’t install it. Though there is a registry hack. Just boot Ventoy from USB with Windows 11 ISO on it, you can use ventoyplugson to do the registry hacks automatically. Tested and worki...

Re: Ventoy - How To Use A Save File On The USB

I made my ventoy disk with a third partition which I formatted to ext4 to use save folders. I put my X-Slacko frugal folder on it as well as grldr (grub4dos-0.4.6a) and my menu.lst Booted to ventoy, chose F4 local boot > Search and boot Grub4dos > picked my frugal install and that's it. Don't need t...

Re: X-puppy (X-slacko, X-tahr, X-precise) Puppy with XFCE desktop

Unfortunately I've lost most of my Linux stuff, my build scripts being the most important. I did however find an unreleased X-slacko-4.5 ISO which I've just uploaded to smokey's site. Link in first post > X-slacko > iso. MD5 is fd153da129cdbda6362fb05e236809dc If I remember correctly the changes wer...

Re: QuickPup 20.06.2

Thanks mistfire but it's irrelevant now as my laptop died yesterday. My backup laptop has Atheros, will test later in the day.

Cheers

Edit: Decided to check now and can see both router and phone so problem solved.

Re: QuickPup 20.06.2

I tried frisbee and sns and still no go where as windows 7 detects and connects easily. I'll try tethering later.

Edit: Posting from my desktop connected to phone. Must be my laptop wireless card, Broadcom using b43

Re: QuickPup 20.06.2

Gosh, check to see if gconf is installed. I seem to remember that some Gnome and XFCE apps needed it to save config settings.

Edit: Looks like gconf is there.

Edit2: NetworkManager is not detecting my phones hotspot so back in windows

Re: QuickPup 20.06.2

Had another look at QuickPup and did a few customization's. Haven't used Puppy for a while, it's amazing how much stuff I forgot. Audio/Video works, Networking is OK although it won't auto connect to my router after a reboot even though it's checked in NetworkManager.

Nice job Mistfire

Hey Mistfire,

Downloaded and had a quick look, so far so good. Will play around a bit more later. Nice to see some X-Slacko stuff in there.

Cheers
