Just checked in, and saw this... I've been using proton since I changed my website. A better choice than squirrel mail, titan mail, and other webhost choices.

Re: The Death of the ISO

Two words... hard copy. Here' a few more, extant software. Considering the comparison... BOTH iso and script NEED A 2ND COPY off the machine to be effective. CD/DVD for the former, or both can have a 2nd electrical copy... but OFF THE TARGET 'PUTER. I see no disadvantage to an iso format. syslinux, ...

I'm about 2 months into this, and not using any sudo apt gets, its behaving rather well. THERE IS A DROPOUT PROBLEM IN VIDS AND AUDIO. Audio gets clicky because of it. The Realtek-269 in the Atom netbook is much better. BT keyboard fine for GP uses. All in all a fine advance from the Atom N470 singl...

Not for nuthin... but this situation is exactly why I pre configure FF when I make my remasters. Too few people have the time to search all those literal thousands of config lines choices. If I may say, what I do alters over 400 of those choices. IMHO, and fighting windmills, the folks that make the...

One nit here... my personal website expires in about a week, but I have new address. If you click in the link in the RADIO folder it will now show a link to new site. I will update this post after site expires.

Which reminds me about cameras that use film to make pictures. One had to send the film to someone to develop it, and of course charge $$$ for the service.

Just U/L to archive org is a NO BROWSER version of AtomicPup21 (Last Slacko5.7 version). The usual limit of 32bit nonPAE, intended for Netbooks 2008-12. Tiny by today's stds at 120Mb ISO (360Mb inflated), and can be used with a small (64Mb = me) save file IF no additions. The SHA1sum in txt file. ht...

@peebee
the adrv is loaded b4 the main sfs... the zdrv is after. Seems to me that the kernel delta can occur if in the adrv, not the zdrv. My old Atom N270 likes it that way with in-order execution.

Re: Firefox 113.. What are your oppinions?

FF112 is in the O-pi5b and it runs fast (opens in 3-5 seconds). In my case, the uSd card determines the operating speed. As a comparison, FF78.15.esr in a 1st gen. Atom CPU takes 40-45 seconds to load.

Proton Mail

Using proton after the php roundcube went bad, lost about 40Mb mail over the years, and of course it was attatched to my website. No renewal there, ehh. One can set proton up for secure transit if desired. Thought this was noted here, but maybe quite a while ago, so forgive the bump.

I don't understand the meaning of "plugin", the generic Distribution Folder as down load is either here or in the old forum (search for it). The Addons needed are uBlock, and ClearURL. 78.15 esr works great here IF you remove the junk from "newtabpage", and disable autocomplete, ...

Re: All about:config Settings

One does not have to be addicted to updates. I find the use of an ESR version of Firefox works well. But a "distribution" folder is needed to stop updates. With older pups, this HAS too be done, AtomicPup for example (netbooks 2008-12) uses FF78.15esr with a distribution folder to stop upd...

Using Slacko7.0-32bit.
I have save-file, but the app UI indicates session only, after I make changes. It does this in 5.7, too. Lucky that the touchpad retains the deltas... mouse no.

Of note is the new 'webp' extension that many sites are converting towards. This means updates to various display apps/software. Anot...
