Re: DistroWatch needs a newer Puppy version listed for Puppy Linux!!!!!

As mentioned earlier on tis thread, dimkr ' Vanilla(s) is an great candidate. It ticks all the boxes for a PUP, in my book, just as BKWP64 offers.. And so does peebee 's two 64bit distros, as well. One of them is a carryover for 01micko 's "Slacko". Excellent feature set, constantly mainta...

I have NOT found this to be true.

This will be interesting as such; much more Wayland/GTK4/QT6 improvements. Waiting to see what occurs for my old nvidia card PCs and how they will be supported.

Forum distros will react, as well.

Looking forward.

I have a new SSD on order arriving by the weekend. ALL of my recent USBs and my 2 SSDs came preformatted for exFAT. Now appears to be an manufacturer's industry standard. sonny I think I need to apologize for my posts as after looking over the thread, I think you are asking for something different than what typical developers here delivered for general use. I believe you feel that a general use distro is not a way to go. I am sure that even that perspective is not a...

Re: DistroWatch needs a newer Puppy version listed for Puppy Linux!!!!!

There is no bloat in forum distros. It is the creation from years of experiences in presenting a reasonable delivery.

None of what I have seen in my few years on this forum accounts to bloat. Developers are NOT floating bloat in forum distros, IMHO.

Can you give some examples?

Thanks peebee . I feel you are correct as this occurs when the distro is in control after its own Menu processing. Not sure which option in the kernel-build is the culprit. BUT, I dont run traditional frugals. ISO boots with persistence are the frugal I only used for last 5 years. Thus no extraction...

Re: Why do XFCE/GNOME/KDE/... keep RAM idle?

Yes. 2006 is when all manufacturers were instructed (rather mandated) to release x86-64 PCs with a 'standard' minimum of 1GB. All manufacturers adhered to such although some Ma & PA PC shops at that time did not; to reduce user costs along with their 32bit sales.
