Re: SMplayer 21.1.0 / SMtube 20.6.0

I would like the versions for Slacko64-V8 using shared qt5, whenever you can. As you know Slackware is moving toward a 'total' python3 vs old v2.x.

Thanks in advance, no rush

This is an idea for comtemplation. It works for me when I tested last year. I cannot remember if I used FATDOG or FossaPUP64. Could someone who has the DEVX installed be kind enough to build this QEMU as a PET: V5.2 download is here.

A description of the 5.2 contribution is here for reading.

Thanks in advance, if you can.

Re: USB PC ports - How to tell

I was afraid of this and is the reason I posted. As the technology of display devices (PCs/AIOs/Laptops/TVs/tablets/etc) advance, we users are facing a dilemma which is only going to get worse if you are trying to have a means of identifying the port-device behaviors we are heading into. So, when I ...

USB ports - How to tell which type?

This is NOT a solution. Rather it is a question. Further this is a follow-on to this USB information USB technology is advancing. PCs have been advancing, sometimes, in step as USB progresses. ALL of you know of these physical port changes occurring over the past 2 decades. AND, most of you know ...

bigpup provides some excellent guidance for use of a NEW PC. I would encourage use of it as you start to get comfortable with PUPPY Linux on your new PC. I feel his 1st sentence-paragraph in the prior post is an ESPECIALLY important 1st consideration for ANY new 64bit PC. Taking that advice, I ...

Re: Frugal install of Fossadog64 on fat32 flash drive slowww when using savefile

You cannot boot from an iso and create a savefile because iso is always mounted read only. You can not create a savefolder because the partition must be ext and the iso is of course iso9660. I am not sure I follow this comment. From ALL of my 2020-2021 use of SG2D to boot any of those PUPs/DOGs ...

The short answer is NO for booting Barry's ISOs . They do NOT comply for the universality that the PUP and DOG developers have adopted for boot process on BIOS/UEFI PCs. The short answer is YES for using another writing program to create the SG2D bootable USB . And for the sentence preceeding where ...

If you feel a need to maintain a Frugal install the guidance is fine. BUT, there is NO NEED to do a Frugal. FossaDog was updated last year to boot directly from its ISO and save-session whereever you want in a format of your choice (i.e. folder/file). The simple instructions I used is here for all ...

Yes, I am aware of the modifiers to replace "bark-bark". But what ETP is presenting is a notification based upon a system true/false activity. The notification "springs" when that activity changes, AFAIK This type of notification based upon a 'system-level event' is "new" to Puppy linux beyond bark ...

Both of these are excellent "at-a-glance" visual of a write operation. The "fly-in-the-milk" is the I/O subsystem as it can/does mask operations that can/does impact the visuals as the subsystem can reflect completion even though the actual operation may still be in transit; hence "sync" terminal ...

ETP - LIKE the video showing navigation and product demos. I am in favor of the "Audio Notification" that your desktop demonstrates.
