Re: Multi-session live-CD/DVD
Preference is Multi-Session for "many" reasons and until recent 2020 PUP ISOs, I have and still do for some older desktops, use my DVDs and CDs. My experiences with most every PUP distro until 2020, was to download the ISO and create media. I'd boot the media to desktop. Firstly, immediate...

Replying quietly via PM does NOT help any PUP members should there be some additions found or a newer method/approach used for success or failures. Please continue posting as this experiences may be useful information to others. There are many cloning/backup/restore methods in Puppy Linux everywhere...

Members: There are many, many VPN clients. Using SuperGRUB2 I was able to boot the latest FossaPUP64 without any issues. Also, I used FATDOG v811's to create a BTRFS partition where I placed FossaPUP64 v905 in a /BOOTISOS folder. It was found and booted, too. FD811 has added BTRFS and other filesystems for user use, seemlessly. I will take y...

BTRFS and "compression"
BTRFS is a "part" of the FD811 complement! Those developers should be rewarded for advancing this for us. BTRFS in Fatdog.jpg Over my decades, I have constantly used compressed NTFS for my data storage needs. It has been very useful with little CPU demand as data flows thru the Windows/Lin...

Has anyone considered "suggesting" to use a PUP from 2005-2008? Why continue to try steering new PUPs toward old hardware? ... even new 32bit PUPs??? The objective for all of us technologist is to get things operational...not to try to make old hardware new. There are about 100 old PUPs (a...

So, those flags indicate the compression attribute?
If so, is the flag there to tell the I/O subsystem that decompression is required for proper use?

Hummm??? I just tried this on a pristine FD 811. It works as expected. Will have to chase down what happened with the minimal (3) Slapd programs that are added that causes this Fatdog utility to go into a non-terminating loop when its updatedb attempted.
Serious problem.
