Re: Best 32 bit version with support beyond 2023?

Wish I was close by. I have 8 32bit desktops that work and 5 laps that I cannot give away at my old US home. Anyone willing to pay their postage, you can have them. Also have 3 16bit PCs too you can have as well as well as 3 VGA monitors. And 2 VGA KVM switches plus a netbook that also still works ...

Re: fossapup bios startup issue

Forgive me again: Why would anyone install (Frugal) on a Ventoy ISO file booting disk? Anyone who boots an Puppy ISO file "live" using EITHER Ventoy or SG2D gets ALL Puppy abilities including those found in a Frugal boot. This INCLUDES the ability to install PETs, run SFSs, run all Apps, use the ...

Chrome/Chromium for Linux does NOT have an "Upgrade" feature that we can use in Puppyland. There are numerous utilities for installing Chrome by several members, but there is NO "upgrade" utility. I am aware of use of PPM but some of us know that sometimes, depending on the distro, this doesn't ...

This thread starts with the OP's "Xeoma" camera concerns arriving at a solution.

This thread has taken on a completely new life as it has mophed to ZM only. I consider ZM an important discussion. Shouldn't the ZM discussion and its progress be moved and contained in its own ZM thread?

Hello MrAccident In the Guide's TOC , under the heading "CPU feature requirement test" is a linux command to test your PC for the acceleration feature that the Linux kernel + QEMU uses to give native (standalone) performanceto your virtual PC (VM). I HIGHLY recommend you check and insure your PC has ...

Hello, There seems to be a little confusion on my part with this post, not to mention its forum location, so forgive me for asking couple questions about your post: You mention you have an area that you keep ALL (?) you Puppy stuff. Is that your saves, Frugal, Pets, SFSs, or what is that area ...

Hello MrAccident , again 'Standalone' is my reference of running the PUP without the Virtual Machine (aka QEMU) vs having the VM active with a PUP running within. When, in the past, I compare the responsiveness, I have found the VM apps to appear to be more responsive than the apps on the standalone ...

amethyst comments intends to share the reality of our current world. 64bit PCs and laptops over the past 15 years have been discarded by so many people. Further, they are often readily available in repair shops or online as low as $15 (CA). Thus, you get a PC which accomodates more RAM as well as a ...

Re: Looking for a website where I can install Windows OS and programs.

You "can" install a minimal Windows within FossaPUP using its QEMU. In my case, Windows run faster actually on my PC as does most/many PUPs do. I find the QEMU VM performing at near 100% in FossaPUP64 vs standalone. In fact, this QEMU approach was discussed very early on when FossaPUP64 was released ...

Best 32 bit in 2023???

A power hungry 32bit platform will be 25-30 years old in 2023. ... Built BEFORE today's internet. Please understand "why" almost every OS has abandoned the UPKEEP of 32bit. There are many reasons "why". No offense is meant by this comment. Its merely a reference to our current world.

I think bigpup is sharing an issue I've run into and was inspired by the USB threads I posted on in the Off-Topic areas. The ISO files of those distros are kept in a /BOOTISOS folder on the SG2D USB that is booted. SG2D presents all ISO files in ...
