Re: Why Do You Use Puppy Linux?

I am interspersing my comments. I just wish it didn't take so many resources to run a browser these days. An interesting wish, that gets me pondering whether modern GUI browsers really need to take so many resources. Clearly they don't need to. Netsurf (for example) has a smaller per page footprint ...

Re: ScPup32 and compiling NetSurf

It appears that there is some sort of version mismatch with perl. It was my goal to make NetSurf for ScPup because it is an extra small web browser. This is part of my personal project to make an ScPup based system that is split into 2 SFSs. At this point, I have the first SFS only reduced by a few ...

Somehow full install says if CPU is slow then i should go for FULL install, and my CPU is extremaly slow :D so what do you think I have used frugal installs of 528 on a machine with a single core at 900MHz. It was usable. If you do a frugal install it is not that hard to change to a full install la...

I have VirtualBox and a fair collection of puppy ISOs. I just tried ScPup-32 at 128 Meg and it boots and sort of runs but is much too slow to use. A few thoughts: I may be dreaming this but it seems to me that I heard that a new kernel version used PAE if available but didn't choke if it wasn't.
