It is probably .tcz and not .tzc.
Uextract supports extracting almost anything, included .tcz files.

pkg has dir2repo. That may be able to add a local repo.

It's really just a simple operation of automated installing cli instead of ppm because the packages are already downloaded. File manager gui works fine but is painfully manual.

That's exactly the reason (or one of the main reasons) @sc0ttman created pkg.

Re: Language Pack for Brazilian Portuguese

In the "Puppy Setup" application you could set your main language. You can do it also on the "Quick setup" that runs the first time you run a fresh install of Puppy. It should say that a language pack is needed. The lanuage pack should be a .pet file. It should be for Puppy speci...

Re: How do we .deb package install on the command line?

Could pkg from @sc0ttman help you out?
It is command line and 'integrated' with PPM.
It comes with Fossapup and with builds from @josejp2424 and maybe some others.
You could probably install it on other Puppys if they are not too old.

2011 is not so old. I wonder what problem(s) you have or see. Besides the error with glxinfo. Maybe check whether radeon driver is chosen by LH. You can set the driver in xorgwizard. To run xorgwizard you have to exit to the prompt (exit X). (xwin to start X again.) If you are new to Puppy, you may ...

hello mikewalsh D'you happen to remember the exact name you found it under? 'Cos I can't find it in Fossa's PPM at all. "cool-retro-term_1.1.1" it is. If that's the only app you run in Fossa that needs Qt5, it wouldn't make any difference. But this is built around an older version than Fos...

Re: Problem with HP Probook display in LIghthouse 801

Lighthouse is more of an older Puppy. I'm not sure where to look, but I'll see what I can add. Maybe: is this a new or an old machine? The kernel may be too old (or too recent) or you need newer or older drivers. Specify cpu type and version and gpu type and version. Is there a "pup-sysinfo&quo...

Don't mean to spoil the fun ;-) but ...
on Fossapup I am using CRT for a while now and it just installed fine from the PPM.
A lot of qt5 stuff installed with it of course.

I think it is in ubuntu's repo since focal (FF).
@mikewalsh Nice to have it for older Puppys as well. Thanks.

I read that you have troubles with unicode support in urxvt in fossapup?

Have you tried changing

Code: Select all

TERM=xterm

in /etc/profile to

Code: Select all

TERM=rxvt-unicode-256color

maybe

Code: Select all

TERM=rxvt-unicode

?
It helped me to get MC working properly with 256color skins in urxvt.
