MochiMoppel wrote: Thu Oct 29, 2020 4:50 am Could be a nice alternative to Geany, but needs an update. Fossapup's version is just too old. Newest version is 5.43
Yes, it's a pretty good editor. 666philb mentioned somewhere that he deliberately downgraded Geany version from 1.36 to 1.35 due to performance. Maybe with MP the same case.

Re: Displaying items in a submenu of the main menu

To have additional Menu categories seems to be the only way to solve this. Yes, I have the same screen resolution. And the catch is also mainly with Multimedia, well, and also emulators. I was just hoping someone had figured out a neat trick to display the submenus and not have to clutter up the ma...

Displaying items in a submenu of the main menu

Hello. Let's say we have a LOT of items in one of the submenus of the main menu. Does anyone know a way to make the items appear not infinitely vertically, but rather horizontally, split into multiple vertical columns?

Re: JWMDesk Manager corrupts .jwmrc-tray

I think the cleanest solution is to change /etc/xdg/templates/_root_.jwmrc Adapt <Include>/root/.jwmrc-tray</Include> so that it includes your customized and renamed file (e.g. jwmrc-grey :) ). Then run fixmenus and jwm -restart. The JWMDesk can do whatever it likes to .jwmrc-tray, it just wouldn't...

You could also change the file /usr/local/jwmdesk/jwmdesk I don't know which version you are using. This would work for JWMDesk 2.5. Starting at line 2309 find: <vbox space-expand="true" space-fill="true"> <text use-markup="true"><label>"<b><span size='"'medi...

So. We write something like this to the file /usr/local/bin/jwmdesk #!/bin/sh cp .jwmrc-tray 1/ /usr/local/jwmdesk/jwmdesk cd ~/1/ cp .jwmrc-tray ~/ Then you can change cursors, icons and backgrounds and panels will not disappear from .jwmrc-tray Is it stupid? Re: JWMDesk Manager corrupts .jwmrc-tray

A good programmer should avoid to overwrite existing files by templates to modify a single parameter like e.g. the height of menu entries. This is not calling any programmer being a bad programmer I'm just talking about that. Let's blame it on my poor english language skills. I'll explain though. T...

Re: JWMDesk Manager corrupts .jwmrc-tray

Well, the simplest thing that comes to mind is to use a script that copies jwmrc-tray to another location, then calls JWMDesk and after closing the latter, copies jwmrc-tray back to its place. But this is somehow ... mmm ... not comme il faut :)

Who has any thoughts about the executable file packer, for example UPX ( https://github.com/upx/upx )? Sometimes the executable file is reduced by almost four times and this is a good level for Fossapup. Are we still chasing small size or is it not cool and modern anymore?
