This thread made me try to boot Tahr6.0 NO PAE and PAE, just for giggles, on my desktop with bios set to UEFI and Grub2 and both booted with no problem

Did you mean you have a PC that you can set bios to either uefi or legacy? And you have it set on legacy and using grub4dos? Yes, that will work. Look at the chart on my first post on this ...

Good day fellas. Power adapter came in, hit CTRL, REFRESH + POWER using the adapter without the battery connected and it gave me what I think is the final blow to this attempt. Error message on top left of screen read:

@bigpup @wizard - I went ahead and bought an adapter, brand new for $8.00 (not expensive as I thought), rated for this chromebook and should arrive tomorrow. Figured I'd wait for it to arrive before doing anything else. Will keep you posted. Thanks

No cmos bat, just disconnect the main battery, press and hold the power button for about 30 sec and then run from ac adapter to do procedure.

It shows up on the list if I run lsusb . I can see the vendor and product numbers

I wasn't at first but after reading rcrsn51 post, I did and I got the message. I'll try to open the case and see if there is a cmos battery I can remove and see what happens

The board name should be at the bottom of the first Chromebook screen. Is it SNAPPY?
rcrsn51 - I rebooted and did not see anything on the screen. At the login screen were options to power down, continue as guest, add a person, etc... but did not see "snappy"

Ah, I get it now. The platform line is what we are looking for. The chromebook we have is internally called BENTLEY-BIGDADDY that was built on snappy board. :thumbup:
