Thanks for getting back to me. I assumed you are working with the password on your router for your PCs to talk to. That is all I have changed about wifi network passwords.

Have tried using an older Save file and booted up without a connection. Deleted the SNS files, rebooted and went through the steps of setting up an initial connection. You may have to install the sns package as /root. That is is only way I have done it.
If you installed under spot, I'd be curious what running sns from a console would show as to messages.

Will your wifi card not work with the brcmsmac driver? That would be simplist.
If you must use ipw2200, you can add a preference for it in order to override brcmsmac. For details, just ask.

Just reboot.
Then try running 'javaiftest' in a console/terminal to see what got set up. And try your java program.
