Rebooting had no effect so started checking the .jwmrc-tray and .jwmrc files line by line. Apparently, when I edited the template file,in /etc/xdg/templates, an extraneous "#" got typed into the file. Once I removed the "#", ran fixmenus and restarted the window manage all was well.

I think the cleanest solution is to change /etc/xdg/templates/_root_.jwmrc

Adapt <Include>/root/.jwmrc-tray</Include> so that it includes your customized and renamed file (e.g. jwmrc-grey :) ). Then run fixmenus and jwm -restart.

I was able to fix it by rebooting then re-installing wayland and its libraries. This probably is not the "best" way to fix the issue, but it does appear to have worked.

check that your conkyrc has these lines in bionicpup
own_window yes
own_window_transparent yes
own_window_type override
own_window_hints undecorated,below,sticky,skip_taskbar,skip_pager

own_window_type was set to "desktop". I changed it to "override", but still no change. Thanks for trying.

Thanks, puddlemoon. Restarting the window manager did seem to solve the pinboard problem (at least for now). Do you know of anywhere I can read up more on how to use ydrv, etc?

There is a 64 bit version for linux on the Softmaker download page. Just download the .tgz package, unpack it to any location you like, then run their install script.

Thank you for all the insight about LFS. Sounds like it is worth the effort. Like you, I have strong feelings about systemd. I wouldn't mind if it stuck to being an init system, but it is taking over way too much of the OS.

Dpup is a GREAT pup. Not only Dpupbuster64 is my main system I'm also following a LFS course in Virtualbox running Dpupbuster64 (and everything runs so perfectly it's almost a bit suspicious LOL )

How do you like LFS so far? I've thought about giving it a try.
