Re: Icons gone missing from tray after JWM mod (SOLVED)
Rebooting had no effect so started checking the .jwmrc-tray and .jwmrc files line by line. Apparently, when I edited the template file,in /etc/xdg/templates, an extraneous "#" got typed into the file. Once I removed the "#", ran fixmenus and restarted the window manage all was well.

I think the cleanest solution is to change /etc/xdg/templates/_root_.jwmrc
Adapt <Include>/root/.jwmrc-tray</Include> so that it includes your customized and renamed file (e.g. jwmrc-grey :) ). Then run fixmenus and jwm -restart.
The ...

You are correct. I had missed that thread (which got off topic and kind of ugly). The last couple post look like a solution though.

I totally fail to understand how simply showing system information on the screen can possibly scare anybody...!!

Re: Removed "wrong" builtin package
I was able to fix it by rebooting then re-installing wayland and its libraries. This probably is not the "best" way to fix the issue, but it does appear to have worked.

Removed "wrong" builtin package
I accidentally removed "wayland" using the "Remove Builtin Packages" app in BionicPup64 (frugal install on hard drive) is there any way to gracefully recover from this stupidity?

Re: Strange conky issue
check that your conkyrc has these lines in bionicpup
own_window yes
own_window_transparent yes
own_window_type override
own_window_hints undecorated,below,sticky,skip_taskbar,skip_pager
own_window_type was set to "desktop". I changed it to "override", but still no change. Thanks for trying.

Re: fossapup now on distrowatch
the fact that Manjaro is on top perhaps also speeks to some linux community backlush against some of the bloat that distros like ubuntu are known for.
I used Manjaro regularly a few years ago and really liked it. However, like many others, they have gone the systemd route which I refuse to ...

There is a 64 bit version for linux on the Softmaker download page. Just download the .tgz package, unpack it to any location you like, then run their install script.

I tried to change the XFCE terminal colors using "Edit->Preferences". The changes get recorded somewhere because they show up in preferences if I close and re-open the terminal, but the terminal window itself never changes.

How do you like LFS so far? I've thought about giving it a try.Dpup is a GREAT pup. Not only Dpupbuster64 is my main system I'm also following a LFS course in Virtualbox running Dpupbuster64 (and everything runs so perfectly it's almost a bit suspicious LOL )
