Re: NoblePup64

IdfbAn At present, the noblepup64 iso is better than the upup-24.04 iso. I mean that the iso you first introduced to us is better. The upup-24.04 iso from ubuntu-noble64-1.zip is no good at all. I tried to switch the language to Japanese, but it did not include locales. It is not usable to other pe...

Re: NoblePup64

I am experimenting with NoblePup64. Connman worked without the dhcpcd package. This became possible probably because I replaced the fdrv with the one borrowed from bookwormpup64. It seems that openGL is broken, or something essential is missing. That is why mpv starts with a blue screen. So --vo=x11...

Re: NoblePup64

So, the only steps to get it working were to install the following packages: FFMpeg dhcpcd dhcpcd-base Frisbee (PET) Are the packages just found via Launchpad? As for dhcpcd and dhcpcd-base, yes. I borrowed the fdrv sfs from bookwormpup64, which included suitable firmware for my wi-fi adaptor. fris...

Re: NoblePup64

For testing during development Thanks for your reply. I think I have to be more tolerant. But it would be better if woof-CE had some "sanity check" function. Edit: I have japanised NoblePup64, and it works almost fine after some adjustments. At present, the noblepup64 iso is better than t...

You should be able to find development builds in https://github.com/puppylinux-woof-CE/w ... oble64.yml (click a "workflow runs" row, then go to Artifacts). I tried the iso. The wi-fi network setup is OK. But mpv starts with a blue screen. The most annoying thing is that no locales are in...

@Jasper and @dimkr Thanks for your reply and advice. I think I understand what you say about the fdrv. dimkr Thanks for your reply. But I am no computer expert, and all I can do is to report what has happened on my machine. As I posted above, there seem to be some things missing in the iso. Are they going to be introduced in the iso in the near future? And one more thing. The fdrv is too large, but ...

Re: JammyPup32 (UPupJJ+D-22.04) JammyJellyfish+Debian Woof-CE build

Hello. I installed the release-240125. glxinfo and glxgears return an error message. I installed libglx-mesa0_20.3.5-1 (bullseye) and the error disappeared. By default, libglx-mesa0_23.0.4 is installed, but isn't this a case of misconfiguration? Another thing I notice is that hardinfo reports that m...

@michel804

I tried downloading bionicpup32-8.0-uefi.iso. I also have bionicpup32-8.0+30-uefi.iso downloaded from another place.
These two ISOs return the same md5sum. So bionicpup32-8.0-uefi.iso at ibiblio is bionicpup32-8.0+30-uefi.iso.

However, the iso published recently is very different from the first official release. 4.19 and 5.4 are no longer supported on Github Woof-CE so had to change to 5.10..... The CPU Frequency Scaling Tool (wcpufreq) is a legacy Puppy application (released in 2010). It is now broken for some central processors. Hello.

I have noticed the following two things so far.

I am afraid that the script conky-gtk lacks the two lines which enable the localization/internationalization.
export TEXTDOMAIN=conky-gtk
export OUTPUT_CHARSET=UTF-8

I suggest that wcpufreq should be included like other puppies.

The priority order doesn't usually matter. It is only when two files having the same name try to locate the same location in RAM that a potential conflict exist and the priority rule is implemented. As far as I can tell, files relating to language have their own, unique, locations. I agree. I don't...

you may want to designate your 'alphabet' SFSes as ydrv rather than adrv. A senior member of the Japanese forum used to use an adrv sfs to japanize puppies. Translations are affected by the context. I looked at various dialog screens and thought that translating a sentence word by word is not enough. Automatic translation by google, etc will be far from satisfactory.

Re: FrugalPup v38, very flexible Puppy frugal installer

Here's a suggestion, convert your Japanese language pack into a ".sfs" instead of a ".pet". I prefer using a pet package, because it can contain install scripts. Simply turning it into an sfs such as adrv sfs will not work. But it is not impossible to use adrv sfs as a language ...
