@dimkr @BarryK
My approach was very different. I just set the minimum ram requirements in order to copy SFS to RAM. It will not copy to RAM if the RAM installed on target PC was below minimum ram requirement

Where is the git history of these projects? How can we audit the source code and see what's changed when most of it came from one big "initial commit"? Here is the original source code links: Isomaster3: http://littlesvr.ca/isomaster/releases/isomaster-1.3.17.tar.bz2 gtorrentview3 (torren...

Re: DistroWatch needs a newer Puppy version listed for Puppy Linux!!!!!

I just tested the BookwormPup64. compelling enough for me. Much better than FossaPup64. However I noticed something. 1. There are some Qt apps. It there is Qt apps in Pup then why It didn't go using LXQT was primary desktop for Puppy instead of rox+jwm? 2. Python3 was included. QWinff can be replace...

Re: DistroWatch needs a newer Puppy version listed for Puppy Linux!!!!!

A nonsense to call distro Puppy Linux when it is not Puppy Linux. Surely Puppy enthusiasts want actual Puppy Linux distros to continue to be developed in line with ever advancing Linux technology? (Emphasis mine). Which begs the perennial question: What is a "Puppy Linux" distro? What qua...

Tips for using Pipewire and Wine

The problem with wine was when you are using multimedia windows program the requires soundcard access such as sound editor (e.g. wavepad) and dj software (e.g. virtual dj). It wanted to took over the control of soundcard however it was already occupied by pipewire ended up the software doesn't work....

Probably yes, Bookworm might be a better solution since Jammy might not be ready yet (IDK, but I am currently working on adding Conky to Jammy64; and maybe samba as well in the future). It will be "ready" if enough people find a way to collaborate on it (using development tools like GitHu...

If your intention is to add a layer with symlinks below the upper, you won't be able to modify it freely. Modifications of layers other than upper interfere with file system cache and can lead to data loss and things like contents of lower layers and whiteouts in the upper layer running out of sync...

Re: With the Recent Quittings and Resignations......

Here's my two cents here. Puppy was to suppose to be progressive yet supports legacy hardware. However the development got stuck on its. The goal of supporting circa 90's and 2000's hardware is no longer worth it on this year 2024. Since most legacy computers still used was in 2010's. Maybe it's tim...
