Thought we'd lost ya for good

Na Mike, I pop in from time to time to see how things are on the forum.

Once I get settled in I'll find more time to delve back into things, I need to brush up on my scripting as it was always a bit rough.

The bathroom next on the list.

Re: No sound in Firefox portable (solved)

Suggest you try MikeWalsh's portable, https://forum.puppylinux.com/viewtopic.php?p=37559#p37559 . Don't update it. To make Firefox not update, in the "firefox" directory make a folder called "distribution", inside of that a file called "policies.json", with this. { "policies": { "DisableAppUpdate ...

Re: Tintii and Urbanlightscape

@mikewalsh

I'm using PhotoShop CS6 extended edition, running in wine-1.7.23, it all seems good, I haven't had a issue as of yet, though I have copied the system files from visualbasic6 into the system32 folder, that might be the reason it runs ok, yes um, "other" means.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't these originate as Photoshop "plug-ins"? Mike. ;) Hi Mike, been awhile, yea the Windows and Mac OS X versions contain both the Photoshop plugin and the standalone application. Re: Tintii and Urbanlightscape

It's been some time since I've done anything with Linux, all my old machines died so haven't really had anything dedicated to run Linux on, I've now resorted to to using VMWare on my new PC, works much better than VirtualBox. I recently used Urbanlightscape to edit a image of my deceased cat Vince ...

Re: could'nt find 'pulse' on my Pup. Puppy that does not even as much -wimp

Try this script from the old forum, https://oldforum.puppylinux.com/viewtop ... 9#p1025219 it worked for me, downloads the latest Firefox.

Remove the .gz to run the file in a terminal

ffportable-inst.gz
(1.85 KiB) Downloaded 73 times

.
Builds a Firefox that contains the files needed for sound.

Re: Install new gtk themes from non-puppy repos?

You can make a directory "/root/.themes" and place them there, the same goes for icons, "/root/.icons" and "/root/.fonts". I read about it somewhere, but they recommended linking in .themes instead of putting the files there because otherwise there was a risk of the folder corrupting or crashing? I ...

I use to place items there as it makes for a easy cleanup and testing.
