Re: Chromebooks (Run and install Puppy)

If you used the mrchromebox.tech legacy seabios firmware.

You need to do what they say to do on their web site to remove it.

Re: How delete old drivers audio/graphics in Pupxxxsave.4fs

Exactly how you get to settings for hardware may be a little different depending on what specific Puppy version. So there is no general overall way to do it. Should be some programs In menu ->Setup. About sound setup. The Puppy versions you indicate. In menu ->Setup there should be something like AL...

Re: Chromebooks (Run and install Puppy)

Your guess is as good as mine. I would look on https://mrchromebox.tech/#fwscript This seems to indicate the mrchromebox.tech firmware utility script would do it. Maybe someone that has tried to do it will come along with better info. Most people here changed to using Puppy Linux on their Chromebook...

Re: DistroWatch needs a newer Puppy version listed for Puppy Linux!!!!!

When BookwormPup shows up on the DistroWatch Puppy Linux section. I will make an announcement on the forum about it. So people who may not be reading this topic know about it. I will lock the topic, so all it can be is just an announcement. No one will be able to post to it. That should keep this to...

Re: DistroWatch needs a newer Puppy version listed for Puppy Linux!!!!!

Give it a little time for someone to offer something new as a Puppy version. Who knows what may come along. I think in 4 to 6 months, there could be a Puppy version released by someone, that no one ever thought about doing. The ones that are compatible with Debian are moving along and who knows what...

Re: How delete old drivers audio/graphics in Pupxxxsave.4fs

Now you have found the problem with trying to use the same save on a different computer. The setup stored on the save is for the computer it was originally made on. It is storing settings for that computer. The save is not storing drivers, but is telling the OS what driver to use, and what settings ...

Re: can I use inxi to fetch system information and how to use root#

Puppy is setup as a single user root.

So, when you run Puppy, you are the root user, and can do anything in the file system.
Run any command.

Sudo is not needed.

If you want to run any command in a terminal.
just enter the command.
Press enter.

For what inxi can do Puppy Linux uses the program Pup-Sysinfo. menu-> System->Pup-Sysinfo Under the different sections listed at the top of the program. Any piece of information can be found. Re: DistroWatch needs a newer Puppy version listed for Puppy Linux!!!!!

Totally disagree. These features of how Puppy is put together allow it to operate the way it does. How it can be a frugal install. Which allows installing on any drive, any partition, any format, even inside another operating system install. The different SFS's make this possible because they are a ...

As I understand, the program randomly makes up a name for the device, when you install the program on it.

Then you can change it to something you want it to be.
