Re: is a pet or SFS for GTK4 available for Bionic/Fossa?

Hello Jasper, Thanks for the report. I was able to compile celluloid-0.26 in BookwormPup64 with my GTK4 package This latest release of celluloid does now depend on libadwaita which I added using extracted .debs There are some GTK warnings in terminal, not sure what the cause of those is, but it play...

Re: is a pet or SFS for GTK4 available for Bionic/Fossa?

I think the GTK4 package I compiled in BookwormPup64 is working. I have uploaded it for testing and for anyone curious here:- http://smokey01.com/OscarTalks/gtk-4.8.3-x86_64-bkwm.pet Main runtime package http://smokey01.com/OscarTalks/gtk_DEV-4.8.3-x86_64-bkwm.pet Dev files needed for compiling http...

Re: is a pet or SFS for GTK4 available for Bionic/Fossa?

Just as a bit of information, (sorry it doesn't help with Bionic or Fossa but..) I was able to compile GTK4 from the source tarball in BookwormPup64 This is version 4.8.3 which is the same as the official Debian Bookworm package. I did make a few tweaks to the meson options file such as disabling in...

Re: How to get Wifi to work in Fossapup64?

Either way I would like to stay with the official fossapup64 version as it its easier to trouble shoot any problems in the future. If you want a Pup that uses Focal Fossa packages, there is FossaPup 9.6 (as opposed to 9.5) otherwise known as F96-CE (as suggested above) which is an "official&qu...

The original post and the other post lower down shows that the .desktop file has the line:- NoDisplay=true This will cause the program to not show up in the Menu If you want a Menu entry to be there, either remove the line completely, or change it to:- NoDisplay=false Seems unusual for a GUI program...

pmcputemp 0.63g (issue - small memory leak).

I believe the memory leak was fixed with some assistance from jamesbond. Check out the latest source from 01micko's github and see the latest commits (3 years ago).
The ones I compiled now show as version 0.90

Check to see if the firefox process is called something else such as firefox-esr and if so edit the script accordingly. I'm not in F96 right now but I take it by "since ESR" you mean you have changed from regular firefox to firefox ESR ? EDIT:- Looking in F96 now, there is firefox_esr (wit...

My immediate problem is the black desktop. The taskbar is still there, and a right click on the desktop still brings up the menu. I can still use the computer with a black desktop, but it slows me down a lot and is a major annoyance. [So my question is: Is there a setting somewhere that turns the d...

Re: Mullvad VPN app not working with FossaPup64

Hello Rappel25, Well, /opt/MullvadVPN/resources is actually a path to a directory rather than a file (if the symlink is in place to resolve the issue of the space in the name). This directory needs to be set as an environment variable I think. The systemd file is installed at:- /usr/lib/systemd/syst...

I can help a bit but don't have the full solution Linux does not like the space in the directory name "Mullvad VPN" So in /opt I also created a symlink without the space in the name so it is "MullvadVPN" Then the path you want to launch the GUI becomes /opt/MullvadVPN/mullvad-vpn...

Maybe I am not understanding the question. If you want maximum flexibility to save or not to save at any time, leave the interval time at zero and also tick the box so that you are asked at shutdown if you want to save the session or not. If by "skip the save session" you mean not saving a...

Always a good tip is to copy and paste your post somewhere before attempting to submit it. If you have made a copy you can log in again and paste and then send it after ...

Re: What QEMU Packages Need To Be Installed in BookwormPup?

In my dpup builds, I intentionally don't provide devx, so users can specifically install the package they want, without having to download a 100 MB+ SFS. For every use case of devx, a subset of the packages in devx is enough, and this subset is smaller to download and easier to install through the ...

I have been experimenting with compiling VLC-3.0.20 from source in BookwormPup64 Generally all seems to build OK and work well. Some optional dependencies are included, a few are left out. Re: BookwormPup32 feedback

Compiled from source with --disable-tdb these small libcanberra .pet packages should prevent creation and accumulation of /root/.cache/event-sound-cache.tdb cache files.

As with other Debian/Ubuntu pups, if you look in hidden directory /root/.cache you may see that event-sound-cache.tdb* files are created and these accumulate over time. Not the end of the world, but they don't serve any useful purpose. As I understand it, event sounds are not working in Puppy becaus...

The way I would approach it is to compare the files in the original Puppy with the new files in the corresponding positions (hopefully) in the directory tree of the package.
