Re: pmcputemp-063

Latest pmcputemp is version 0.80 with a few fixes and extra features.
I compiled it and packaged as .pet with Ubuntu Xenial lm-sensors package included.
Original Startup script also included
Not tested in XFCE though.
In JWM I have to hold the right-click, move to desired option, then release

Re: Missing system Icons in BionicPup32

Looking in FossaPup the "Puppy Standard" icon collection is gone from /usr/share/icons and has been replaced with a more extensive one in a directory called PMaterial So I copied PMaterial into /usr/share/icons in BionicPup32 Deleted the icon theme cache file inside it Ran the command gtk-update ...

Re: Missing system Icons in BionicPup32

Hello fernan, Try this and see if it improves things:- Open the file /etc/gtk-3.0/settings.ini Edit the line to gtk-icon-theme-name = Puppy Standard (remove "ubuntu-mono-dark") Make sure you have all the correct spaces and upper case letters. Save the edited file Restart X server Try the GTK3 ...

Re: At Fossapup startup, Geany now opens all .Desktop documents

I can only offer a couple of pointers. Have a look in /root/.config/autostart The files being displayed are probably the ones in there, but maybe something has been added or corrupted so that geany opens them as text rather than them just launching the programs that they are supposed to launch ...

Re: How to stream a USB camera to a laptop screen? (Solved)

If you mean the audio from the camera which is coming down the USB cable it will probably show up as a different (USB) soundcard on the system, so you will have to look for that in your device selection.

I think you may need to explain in greater detail. What program did you compile and what steps did you take? Those errors are the sort of things I would expect to see if you have compiled a program in one distro and then are trying to run it in a different distro. You mentioned mint as well as ...

Re: Rox won't start; error message: No pinboard

Are these both frugal installs on USB flash drives with save folders? Or do they have save files? If so, you might be able to make the bad one into a copy of the good one, if that would be any use to you? Fixing the bad one by manipulating files using the good one is also possible, but we would ...

Re: Rox won't start; error message: No pinboard

One easy way to see if PuppyPin is present is
cd /root/Choices/ROX-Filer
followed by
ls
to list the files in that directory

Try the command killall ROX-Filer
Repeat this until you get the output "no process killed"
Then try the command rox -p /root/Choices/ROX-Filer/PuppyPin again

Re: Missing system Icons in BionicPup32

The Puppy developers have been working on providing cut-down versions of themes that will provide GTK3 icons, but the recipes of Bionic32 and Bionic64 are different. You can try copying things from one to the other and see if you can fix it that way if you like, but it involves quite a lot of ...

Re: Missing system Icons in BionicPup32

It happens because of missing GTK3 icon themes. Full support for GTK3 is really only starting to happen now in the very latest Puppies. You can install a theme such as adwaita-icon-theme via PPM but you might also need to configure it by manual edit of /root/.config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini Icon theme ...

Sounds like rox has failed to start. Have you tried turning it off and on again? Open a terminal (from Menu) and enter rox -p=Default as mentioned in the first post and see if that starts it. Using the poweroff command while X is running is probably a bad idea, is that what you did? If you need to ...

I normally use ext2 for pendrives (USB flash drives). Re: Should package "neon" be in Slackware Pup devx?

Hello Norgo, You are correct. Audacious also needs libneon for listening to audio streams over http which is quite important. Everything is OK if you have compiled from source. The libneon will autodetect if libproxy is installed. If not, it will configure and build --without-libproxy and libproxy ...

I have never tried to use stubby so I don't know the answer to be honest. All I can tell you is that the VPN-Start function takes a backup of your existing DNS settings and then changes the DNS to Cloudflare. This is considered a reputable service and it eliminates DNS leaks (which often happen ...
